Students closed out the programme with a full service day with Habitat for Humanity in Tsuen Wan. Morningside also sent a cohort of 14 students to Fujian, China in May. Students built on last year’s work, renovating and building a wall in a 700 yearold tulou building that still houses some residents of Fujian.

“Although I witness many social problems in my community, the idea of solving them through a social enterprise has never crossed my mind. But looking at what the co-founders [of Seagulls Reuse] have achieved, I now understand that…as long as you have the passion 1,*(" %+$"Ǿ6,2 +*("!&ƛ"/"+ "&+1%" ,**2+&16+! contribute to environmental sustainability.” Victor Chan (Year 2, Biomedical Sciences), York Trip

“This experience inspired me to consider doing more voluntary service... I think that it is necessary to broaden our horizon by serving internationally rather than just locally, which might lead to a dangerous closed-mindedness. To serve globally is to see the commonality among all human beings so that we can understand +!--/" &1"1%"!&ƛ"/"+ "0ǽȋ Simon Yin (Year 4, Philosophy), Fujian Trip

“If I could summarize my service trip to Morocco in one word, it would be advocacy. Taking my visit to Verdaterre, a Moroccan-based agricultural social enterprise, as an example, I realized that genuine service begins with the organization’s advocacy in society.…Service involves more than just action and learning; it also involves exposing ourselves daily to the real world and subsequently doing something for our world, based on these experiences." Myles Wilhelmson (Year 1, Economics), Morocco Trip
