One of the few downsides of life in a small residential college such as Morningside is the difficulty coaches have in gathering enough students to form sports teams. This year, to remedy the situation, our Physical Education Lecturers TANG TSZ MING and ZOIE LAU collaborated closely with C.W. Chu College to organize joint training and courses for students, including basketball, lacrosse, orienteering, soccer, tennis and table tennis. Morningsiders also participated in badminton, volleyball, swimming, and track & field competitions this year.

Mr. Tang and Ms. Lau also regularly encourage students to take the initiative to organize sports activities. Mr. Tang in particular dedicated considerable time and energy to advising and facilitating the work of the College’s outdoor club MC Rangers. The MC Rangers were busy in 2018-19, hiking Big Wave Bay, Kadoorie Farm, and Tung Ping Chau. They also organized a kayaking course and a cycling trip. Thanks to MC Rangers, students are able to make friends, build community, and enjoy Hong Kong’s natural beauty all at the same time!
