Cities of Green
Greenery contributes plenty to our cities, and by extension our lives. But when I ask why we dont see more of it, the response is either that it was not in the budget, no one will take care of it, or we just did not design for it. My next question is always why the hell not?
The
idea.
The student center recently was renovated. What should have been an upgrade had bulldozed old trees and outdoor seating areas. A sad, dry, and patchy lawn was left. So we got the space, lets bring back what made the campus pleasent and make it even better.
Play in our cities
The mantra goes “live, work, play”. Despite this, there is little engage with within our cities, even less so for free. It feels isolating. Yet still, some make their own fun irregardless of circumstance. I am inspired most by those who seek to visually express themselves. Illegally or not.
The idea.
Visual expression, as a form of play, seems to be popular within our cities. The issue is that these activities lie in polarity. Urban art is either illegal or a scarce opportunity. Is there a better way?

Cities for People
What are we building for? People? It certenly does not seem so. Cars dominate the streets. Our buildings are ugly and dont stay long. Where is the humanity? Where is the passion? There are some good spots and they are all the more successful for it. But what exactly makes these spaces so attractive?
