MØRENOT AQUACULTURE

Mørenot Aquaculture collaborates with customers to develop improved and innovative solutions in a rapidly increasing industry. This adds value to the sites and boosts profitability. Increased focus from the authorities on sustainable growth, escapes and sea lice require improved solutions for nets, moorings, service, site calculations and other equipment.

Net pens - tailored to all species

MØRENOT AQUACULTURE

| 09

Nets for salmon & trout GENERAL Large salmon or trout pens with thousands of tons of fish must have excellent water flow through the cage to keep high oxygen level high. Low oxygen levels effects fish welfare and will in turn have a negative influence of feeding and growth. Finding the right balance between mesh size and twine thickness is key to having as big a mesh opening as possible. This then needs to be aligned with the size of smolt being introduced into the net pens. THE NETS Cage nets designed are in a way that means all stress and tension is absorbed by framing ropes rather than the netting. Carefully chosen materials that interact with each other to create a safe enclosure. A salmon or trout net is not an off the shelve product. Tweeking the mesh size to maximize the water flow while ensuring fish are not getting caught is one of the keys.

Mørenot is the only company in the world that gives you the choice between the fully metal free “Flexilink” or traditional steel mooring systems.

Traditional or Flexilink

MØRENOT AQUACULTURE

| 29

FLEXILINK® Internationally patent applied Flexilink® is a result from years of research and development in collaboration with SINTEF and norwegian aquaculture companies. The system meets all the requirements in NS 9415 and can be adapted to all types of sites.

30 |

MØRENOT AQUACULTURE

Unique mooring solution

Benefits of the Flexilink®

As a pioneer in the field Mørenot Aquaculture has launched the Flexilink® mooring grid in fiber with the following qualities:

Several Norwegian aquaculture companies have changed to Flexilink® in the mooring grid. Benefits of the Flexilink® are:

Reduced number of components in the mooring

No connection plates, shackles, thimbles or steel rings

Reduced mechanical wear

Only flexible fiber straps combined with rope

Reduced the number of inspections on the grid

From 42 tons breaking load

Lower acquisition- and life cycle costs

Prefabricated grids makes installation quicker and easier Few individual components provides greater security and longer intervals between inspections Longer inspection intervals significantly lower lifetime cost

MØRENOT AQUACULTURE

| 31

Traditional steel system Mørenot Aquaculture’s main focus is on quality, the ability to deliver and product development. We will tailor and supply your mooring system using either traditional components such as steel plates and shackles – or metal free Flexilink - in a short time and at the right price for your site. We never compromise on quality and only use equipment and solutions that have been thoroughly tested and which can meet all the requirements of NS 9415 – where this is applicable. When supplying a full mooring system under the NS9415 umbrella - all components are product certified in accordance with the Norwegian NYTEK regulations and NS 9415. Being the only supplier in the market that can give you the option between well known system using steel components – or the tried, tested and proven system using only fibre mooring components – Flexilink® – puts Mørenot Aquaculture in a class of its own.

New option

Antistatic Pipes Electro shock from electrostatic charging is a health and safety risk and so antistatic feed pipes can significantly increase the safety for crew working with and around the feeding system. We now supply feed pipes with a customized outer layer in order to increase the electrical conductivity. This is to avoid electrostatic charging of the pipes by feeding systems that use dry air to blow the food pellets through the pipes.

74 |

MØRENOT AQUACULTURE

Feed Pipes Feed pipes used to transport feed from barge or boat to the cages available in coils or straight lengths. The pipe is available to fit all standard size feeding systems like 70mm, 90mm and 100mm. Typical coil sizes are 100 – 300 mtr and we supply electrofusion couplings to connect the lengths of pipe as well.
