Empowering the next generation of filmmakers, activists, and humanitarians to advance poignant, consequential stories, causes, and perspectives that ultimately impact change in the world.
1 Educate and expand awareness of social justice issues
2 Generate conversation and dialogue around civil and human rights
3
Inspire innovative and creative new approaches to social change
We envision a world-class human rights film festival that enlightens, educates, and supports diverse audiences around the world. By promoting understanding and appreciation for world cultures, artistic and creative expression, and a commitment to global issues and social justice, the Morehouse College Human Rights Film Festival is an exciting opportunity to engage Morehouse and connect with filmmakers, humanitarians, social justice organizations, and festival attendees from all over the world.
The Morehouse College Human Rights Film Festival (MCHRFF) was established in 2019 to extend the College’s position as an institution founded on the principles of equality and social justice. The festival has year-round events that attract diverse audiences who continue to have conversations on global human rights and social justice issues in hopes of moving the needle toward change. Our work is anchored by the Morehouse brand reputation and the hallmark of educational excellence that it has grown to represent over the last 155 years, but our posture is with a progressive look toward the future.
Throughout the year, MCHRFF hosts screenings of documentaries, features, and short films that provoke and encourage intellectual discourse centered around human rights and social justice topics. In addition to seeing new films, festival attendees can also attend conversations, workshops, and panel discussions.
