THE ANN WOLTJEN STODDARD ANNUAL GIVING SCHOLARSHIP
To help address the need for more scholarships, an Annual Giving Scholarship was established for the first time in the 2012–2013 academic year. For $10,000, a donor can create an Annual Giving Scholarship that would provide $2,500 per year for four years to a deserving student. An annual giving scholarship is an immediate way for alumni and friends to help fund a Moravian College student’s education.

NEW AWARD AND PRIZE FUNDS THE FAB MAB PASS-IT-ON AWARD
Established through friends and family in memory of Dr. Michele August-Brady. The service outreach award will be given annually to fund a project that is aimed at diminishing health disparities among at-risk individuals or populations living within the local Lehigh Valley community, the United States, or a developing nation.
In fall of 1990, Moravian Seminary professor Kay Ward suggested to Bertie Knisely ’69, who was living in Lititz, PA, and working part time at Linden Hall School for Girls, that she apply for an opening at Moravian College and Seminary for the director of alumni relations. Kay’s suggestion surprised Knisely, but she applied. Today, after more than 25 years of service to the College and Seminary, Bertie has transitioned into a part-time, off-campus role with the development office. “The job has been a perfect match,” says Knisely, “I love Moravian, I love people, and I love connecting people with each other and with the college and its students.” In her role as director of alumni relations, Knisely enthusiastically supported and helped build a wealth of programs that promote a lifelong relationship between alumni, the College and its students. Since being named director of leadership giving in 2007, she has focused on connecting alumni to Moravian through financial support. Thirteen donors expressed their gratitude for all that Knisely has done by establishing the Bertie Francis Knisely ’69 Endowed Scholarship Fund in late June of this year. To date they have committed a total of $65,000 and hope that additional alumni and friends will join them in contributing to the scholarship.
THE AL LAZARO ’11 MEMORIAL PRIZE FUND
Bertie’s deep desire to help Moravian’s students moved former trustee Connie Stirling Hodson ’68 to comment, "Bertie Knisely has shown a talent and a passion to mentor Moravian students and make them feel comfortable in their new surroundings. The scholarship is a perfect way to honor Bertie and her years at Moravian and help the students, whom she so dearly loves.”
THE ROCHELLE N. PAVLOV SANTIAGO MACC PRIZE FUND
Carolyn Felker ’68 adds, “Bertie is the most positive person I have ever known. She certainly has been my link back to the College as she has for many other alumni. I can’t imagine how one would ever calculate the impact her outreach has had in providing financial support for Moravian students. I am thrilled that her endowed scholarship recognizes her exemplary service to the College.”
Established through the generosity of family and friends of Al Lazaro ’11. The prize will benefit a member of the junior or senior class who has shown significant growth and excellence in jazz performance.
Established through the generosity of daughter, Dr. Michelle L. Santiago ’96. The prize will benefit a graduating Moravian Theological Seminary student in the Masters of Clinical Counseling program whose clinical practice and application of psychology betters the human condition.
