Our Club was founded in Moraga in 1967, one of the 33,000 Rotary Clubs worldwide. As a service club, we support many excellent community organizations such as MEF, Food Bank, Moraga Citizens Network, Chamber of Commerce, and Moraga schools, and participate in some international projects as well. In the 1980s, Rotary International initiated and continues to guide “Polio Plus,” the worldwide effort to eradicate the disease of polio, which is close to success.
We built the All-Access Playground at the Moraga Commons, and this year our donations helped fund the Moraga Commons picnic area improvements. We have awarded scholarships to some Campolindo seniors, and we sponsor Scout Troop 246 in Moraga, six Odyssey of the Mind teams from Moraga schools, and we
sponsor and advise the Interact Club at Campolindo. We continue to support the water and library project in Goma in Congo, Africa, and have completed the community center project in Sierra Leone, Africa.
We have renewed the popular Field Day, a track & field meet for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders in Moraga schools, and have participated in Moraga Community Service Day. We will hold two e-waste/shredding collection events again this year at the Moraga Shopping Center in our 15th year of providing this vital community service.
Moraga Rotary meets for lunch most Tuesdays at La Finestra restaurant. For membership questions or more information: moragarotary.org or (925) 376-5137

At the Lamorinda Spirit Van, we take pride in helping our senior community get ready for the holiday season. For the past 18 years, we’ve provided rides to beloved older adults, making sure they can attend medical appointments, visit grocery stores, run holiday errands, go to hair and nail salons, enjoy social events, have lunch at Café Costa, and more.
As the year comes to a close, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Lamorinda Spirit Van.
Your support helps Moraga residents like Brad (95), attend the Lamorinda Movers monthly dinner, Carol (79), who depends on us for her weekly grocery trips, Walt (84), who relies on our transportation for medical appointments at the VA in Martinez, and Pat (95), who counts on us to get to her hair salon in Orinda. These are just a few examples of the many older adults we serve.
Our riders are deeply grateful and often tell us they wouldn’t know what to do without our service. If you’d like to contribute, please make your check payable to: City of Lafayette, and mail it to Lamorinda Spirit, Lafayette Community Center, 500 St. Mary’s Road, Lafayette, CA 94549. Be sure to write “Lamorinda Spirit” in the memo line.
Your generosity supports the Lamorinda Spirit Van Program, helping older adults stay connected, avoid isolation, and remain in their homes for as long as safely possible. We appreciate your support!
