Data’s Role in the Art of Communication

Hayden Lansdell
Assistant Deputy Minister of the BC Data Service and Government’s Director of Statistics
Hayden was appointed to the role of Assistant Deputy Minister in 2019 He is responsible for the Statistics Act and the Anti-Racism Data Act and oversees a division with responsibilities ranging from the development of provincial statistics to the production of anti-racism research, and corporate data management to common data services that support delivery of services in all ministries

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a university-wide competition for graduate students in which participants present their graduate work and its wider impact in 3 minutes or less to a panel of non-specialist judges. The challenge is to present complex issues in an accessible and compelling way, with the assistance of only one static slide.

CREATE distributes thousands in awards and prizes annually. Thanks to the generous donation from Coastal Community Credit Union, over $25,000 worth of awards and prizes will be given out at CREATE 2024.
