The Tap&Go smart card system is available for use. Kigali Bus Services provides daily and monthly unlimited passes, in addition to single fare paper tickets.

From 1 Jan 2018, Citizens of all countries are allowed to get visa upon arrival without prior application. Further details regarding the respective countries of origin can be found on the link above.

There is no single affiliated Agent that is authorized to apply for visa on your behalf. Such Agents may mislead you and charge more than the official visa fees.
A vaccination certificate may be required at the border post. In the event of a major disease outbreak, specific requirements could be set and put to the knowledge of the public.
Change of status for some classes: An applicant may apply to the Director General for another class of visa whilst they are in Rwanda and whilst their current visa remains valid.

Electric Plug and Socket
The electric power in Rwanda is 220V running at 50Hz and the plug types used are either type A, type B, or type C. A hybrid socket is almost universally found, which accepts a combination of the aforementioned plug types.
Delegates are strongly encouraged to carry their own adapters for use with laptops and other electrical appliances. In case of need, adapters can be purchased from shops in the city dealing in electronic and electrical items.

Rwanda is located in central Africa. Its high altitude makes the climate temperate. There are two rainy seasons in the year, typically one from April to May and the other from September to November. In the high-altitude rain forests, it can rain at any time of the year. The two dry seasons are from December to March and from June to August.

Yellow Fever
The following is the WHO list of Countries with risk of yellow fever transmission and countries requiring yellow fever vaccination. This list of countries is dynamic can change anytime depending on situation:

In a bid to prevent transmission of Yellow Fever in Rwanda:
1. All travelers traveling to Yellow Fever endemic countries as per the WHO list should be vaccinated 10 days before traveling.
2. To enter Rwanda, a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is not required to travelers (Residents / Non-Residents) coming from Yellow Fever non-endemic countries and without an active transmission outbreak of Yellow Fever.
3. To enter Rwanda, a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is mandatory to travelers (Residents / Non-Residents) coming from Yellow Fever endemic countries and any country with an active Yellow Fever transmission outbreak.
COVID-19
Covid-19 testing is no longer a requirement prior to boarding the flight to Rwanda.
Covid test is no longer required upon arrival at Kigali International Airport.
Face masks are no longer mandatory in Rwanda, but people are encouraged to wear a face mask in public indoors/closed spaces.
A Covid test is no longer a requirement to depart Rwanda by air.
Medical Insurance
It is strongly recommended that the delegations acquire international medical and travel insurance covering the period of visit in Rwanda. Contracting the medical insurance and related costs will be the solely responsibility of the delegation.
Allergies
Any allergies or food restrictions shall be communicated to Rwanda cooperation latest at arrival through study@ cooperation.rw
NB: Allergies should also be communicated to respective hotels and restaurants for smooth facilitation.
Foreign Currency Exchange
Currency exchange facilities are available at Kigali International Airport and other Forex Bureaus all over Kigali and other secondary cities. Such services are also available at all commercial banks in Rwanda.
The Banks opens from 09:00 to 17:00, from Monday to Friday and from 09:00 to 13:00 on Saturday.

Rwanda Art Museum
The “Rwanda Art Museum” in Kanombe is located in 4 kilometers from Kigali International Airport. This former Presidential Palace Museum changed into Rwanda Art Museum effective from 18th May 2018. The new museum displays contemporary artworks produced by both Rwandan and international artists. The aim is to provide to our visitors’ insight into the originality of Rwandan creativity, arts development from centuries up-to-date, whilst not overlooking traditional or modern imaginations.
Kandt House Museum
Richard Kandt was the first colonial governor of Rwanda, on behalf of Germany, until the early 1900s. At present, the Kandt House Museum in Kigali comprises three main parts. The first part presents Rwandan life in all its aspects – social, economic, and political –before the colonial period. The second part traces the experience of the Rwandan people during the colonial period. Following the Berlin Conference in 1884, the Germans ruled Rwanda until 1916, when the Belgians took over under the League of Nations Mandate after World War I. Richard Kandt’s life and deeds in Rwanda are covered here. The third part covers the history of Kigali, before, during and after the colonial era. Kigali was made the capital upon independence in 1962.
