Laura Watts COPY EDITOR As a writer and editor for the past two decades, Laura knows the power of words. She has been the copy editor for Moon Tide Media, including Southbay HOME magazine, for the past five years, and she edits the magazine’s design showcases. She shares her love of the written word with her son, with whom she’s enjoying the journey of at-home virtual school.
7th Heaven Welcome to our “Lucky 7” edition of Southbay HOME. It’s hard to believe we’re entering our fourth year publishing this wonderful magazine for you. When we first launched back in 2012, we had no idea what the response would be. Sure, we knew the South Bay appreciated great architecture and home design, but there was no way to anticipate the positive response from both the community-at-large and those in the building and design business. As national “shelter” magazines began to disappear from newsstands following the real estate crisis, ours fortunately continued to flourish—primarily due to the curious nature of our wonderful readership. Who doesn’t enjoy a good peek into our neighbor’s home? When invited, of course! And lucky for us, we’ve been invited inside some of the best homes in our area. Not only do we get to see the glorious final results of each and every one of these passion projects, but we get to hear the story behind the story ... how a collaboration between the architects, builders, designers and homeowners helps create a dream home that matches the unique lifestyle of its inhabitants. That’s the Southbay HOME touch. In the wide world of home design, there’s something special going on right here in the Beach Cities, and we’re proud to put that growth front and center. Enjoy!

Suzanna Cullen Hamilton WRITER Suzanna is a writer and regular contributor to regional and national publications and websites featuring articles on lifestyle, entertainment, architecture, interior design, the arts and the environment. She is a former business owner with sales to a high net worth clientele, and she currently resides in Los Angeles.
Lauren Pressey PHOTOGRAPHER Lauren has been photographing South Bay children and their families since 2006. She strives to capture her subjects honestly and artfully and loves the Southern California landscape she gets to work with. A resident of Hermosa Beach and mother of two, she can often be found traveling with camera in hand, documenting the craziness that is her little family.
Diane E. Barber WRITER Diane is a South Baybased lifestyle journalist, interior designer, equestrian and animal lover. Her writing is inspired by her passion for celebrating incredible people, animals and the arts. She is a construction design expert, and when not creating new living spaces or crafting new stories, she is immersed in her beloved horse world.
