V-Town Tablers ‘invest’ for charity The Tablers and their wives, shivering at their collection point in President Hyper.
VEREENIGING. - The saying, “You do not know how a person feels until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes,” rang in the hearts of Round Table Vereeniging 20 when they joined hands in aid of the needy. Labelling themselves the ‘Winter Knights’, they sprung into action. Dressed in shorts and vests in the freezing weather on June 16, they assembled at President Hyper and appealed before the community to donate food and blankets, to make a winter night a little bit more bearable for so many sleeping on the streets and without shelter. The response was huge. The day ended with 7 trolleys stacked
with groceries donated by Good Samaritans. A large amount of food and blankets were donated to a family whose house recently burned down. A lot of blankets were handed out to street children and adults who sleep in the streets of Vereeniging. Round Table Vereeniging 20 would like to thank Vicky Basson from President Hyper for allowing them to use their entrance to collect donations. A huge thank you goes out to Roberto Alexander and his team from West Pack Lifestyle in Vanderbijlpark for donating a super generous amount of blankets. Your donation and kindness is greatly appreciated.
