ELSA RS product details ELSA RS retains the standout features of the original ELSA R power meter: • The most accurate power reading from the most reliable source - the crankset spider • 1.5% accuracy, a visible ANT+ ID and an LED indicator • Power Balance and OmniCal • Tool-free, replaceable CR2032 battery • Lightweight and strong Exogram crank arms It adds an accelerometer for cadence - no need to install a magnet - an IPX7 waterproof rating and multipoint, active temperature compensation.

ELSA RS comes in a 110mm BCD, which matches Shimano’s 11-speed Hollowglide chain rings.

It is sold as a chassis; it does not include chain rings or chain ring bolts.

XX1, x-sync & recalibration SRAM’s X-SYNC™ chain rings are the original and best performing wide tooth, narrow tooth chain rings.

The XX1 power meter has been designed for SRAM’s X-SYNC chain rings.

As shipped, XX1 power meters are accurate with 32T and 34T X-SYNC chain rings. Use Qalvin to recalibrate for 36T and 38T X-SYNC chain rings.

Qalvin v1.5 automatically recognizes an XX1 power meter, asks about recalibration, and recalibrates with one button push.

A card in the box reminds buyers about recalibration.

XX1 power meters do not feature OmniCal.

TECHNOLOGY

accelerometer cadence The ELSA RS and XX1 power meters are configured to use a multi-axis accelerometer to measure cadence.

Accelerometer cadence offers an alternative to magnet-based measurement - for convenience and for bikes where it’s difficult to install a magnet.

Accelerometer cadence will switch on automatically when a magnet is not present.

Performance is excellent up to 160rpm and in all but the most extreme vibration environments.

Benchmark tests show the accuracy matches or surpasses other products that use accelerometers for cadence.

All Quarq power meters with an LED and CR2032 battery are equipped with a multi-axis accelerometer. Turn on accelerometer cadence by installing the latest firmware.

multipoint, Active temperature compensation ELSA RS and XX1 feature multipoint, active temperature compensation that delivers enhanced data accuracy and consistency.

Each power meter is individually calibrated at the factory to eliminate temperature eects on power measurement.

The calibration process employs over 10,000 data points.

Temperature compensation is computed and applied every pedal stroke.

The eective operating range is 0F to 130F (-17C to 54C).

In the past, Quarq power meters featured passive temperature compensation delivered by the strain gauge arrangement, circuit board design and electrical circuit. Quarq’s multipoint, active temperature compensation enhances accuracy and consistency, making Quarq ELSA RS and SRAM XX1 our most precise power meters to date.

qalvin

qalvin Qalvin 1.5 offers firmware upgrades, power meter zeroing, diagnostics and calibration changes from Windows and Mac computers.

Qalvin 1.5 is also available for iPhone and Android.

All versions of Qalvin are free.

Qalvin for Windows and Mac must be used with an ANT+ USB stick ($45 / €40 / £34).
