Our students loaded onto the charter bus alongside students from Archie, Appleton City, Lone Jack, and Warrensburg to begin the journey to Indianapolis. The first stop was Blues Hog BBQ in Washington, MO, where they learned about producing sauces, smokers, and meat to the highest standards.
Day 2:
The group attended the opening session of the 97th National Convention, where they heard an inspiring keynote address from Kevin Wanzer. Afterward, they explored the Career/College Expo and FFA Mall, networking with companies and colleges and discovering future opportunities. The day ended with an evening of bowling!
Day 3:
Industry tours were the focus of the day! Students visited Equipment Technologies, where they learned all about the production of Apache Sprayers, including insights into the business side and a chance to explore two new sprayer models. The next stop was Risin’ Creek Creamery, offering a close look at dairy goat production—from breeding to the store shelf. They even sampled some of the creamery’s products! The final tour was at Ozark Fisheries, a Missouri-based company that raises goldfish, koi, and other aquatic species sold across the country. Students enjoyed seeing the diverse species Ozark Fisheries produces.
