The good folkattheceremonywereall so welcoming. On my way to Copeland Cemetery I stopped at the Valero at FM 3083 and Longmire to fill up. Itwasabout9:45am. A lady pulled next to me, then wentintothestore. Shewas in a purple work shirt, and lookedtobestartingherday The poor car looked the worst for wear with some parts missing. Back on Tuesday the 16th I was invited by the DAR to MISDs Stewart Creek Elementary They held a Constitution Day event to inform the 5th grade students about how the document came to be. The DAR and the SAR, put their hearts into the event, and I was impressed in how well behaved the students were. I tried to look at the event through the eyes of a kid, anditbroughtbackalot of memories, then I looked atthestudentsandsawmost as having normal childhoods, with one or two that had looks of melancholy about them; with who knows, a grandparent (great or otherwise) may have recently passed away, or someone in the fam may be seriously sick. Of course, you know me, I’m a talker, wanting to go inquire and offer words of healing, that the hurt will eventually retreat but professional demeanor had to maintain itself. Ican’thelpeveryone, so I dutifully filled my notebook.
That evening in Conroe, I attended a contentious Conroe ISD board meeting, with public comments being heard on the hot button Ten Commandments issue Of course, most speakers were againstinstallationofGod’s Law in the classroom of

The dedication of the Joey Lenz Memorial Highway last Friday was truly touching, and I’m so grateful of Margie Taylor’s mission to honor her son, who if he were properly tracked by Army medical personnel, couldpossiblybe alive today Taylor s fight for yearly medical screenings of military personnel, really hit home with me. I got to thinking, and it could have made a difference in my quality of life over the decades had I been informed of my future possibility for cancer Of course I can’t go back and ask,‘whatif’inmycase, but ifithelpsmilitarypersonnel in the future, then it is more thannecessary Whyshould unnecessary pain be visited upon them? I was part of a Baylor College of Medicine neuro study, where I received and shared info with my family even extended My cancer chances are reduced, and neurological possibilities such as Dementia are also lowered as well, which is refreshing and in time information being gathered at BCM will be shared with theArmytohelpbettercare forsoldiers. Wine and Food, meeting old friends, and making new ones, tasting and sipping savories and sweets, and enjoying life, living the opposite of hell that life has thrown at me with all my pain. I love Constance McDerby, and she loves the doting attention I praise on her, kissing her hand at every audience sometimes 5 to 6 times an evening.. She and her husband Clifton have created an empire of fun in theHoustonArea, withWine & Food Week, and other events in the region.
