Create a handmade heart-shaped collage card.

Using found and scrapped paper, we will creatively paste collaged pieces onto the heart that finishes with a sweet valentine message.

STEP 1

supplies

For this activity, you need: • cardboard or heavy cardstock paper • found, handmade, or scrapped paper (valentine colors) • coloring tools (markers, pens, crayons, etc.)

• glue or tape • scissors

STEP 2

draw and cut out hearts

Using cardboard (or heavy cardstock) and copy paper, draw a big heart and cut it out. Make sure both hearts are symmertical.

STEP 3

cut out shapes

Use found, handmade, or scrapped paper, cut and tear the paper into various shaped pieces. *optional: use copy paper and create your own patterned designs to use.

STEP 4

build and paste

Take your cardboard heart and begin to build and paste down your pieces.

Use scissors to cut certain pieces to creatively fit within the build.

STEP 5

paste copy heart shape

Once you are finished with the front, take your copy paper heart and paste it behind the cardboard using tape or glue.

STEP 6

valentine message

using coloring tools (markers, pens, sharpies, etc.), write a sweet valentine message.
