Even if you have comprehensive insurance cover, some insurers’ repair schemes do not always include a courtesy vehicle and, where they do, the type of vehicle they supply may not be appropriate to your needs. It’s a little-known fact that you can choose exactly where you want your vehicle to be repaired – you do not have to accept an insurance company’s recommendation. And, while it is being repaired, you have a legal right to a like-forlike replacement vehicle. The repairs to your vehicle can

Make sure of a like-for-like replacement vehicle be arranged by G4Law and this avoids making a claiming on your own insurance policy and possibly losing your no-claims bonus. We will supply you with a like-for-like replacement vehicle ( i.e. car, van, 4x4 *licensed taxi, motorbike, etc). Case studies The young driver case...... Nicole, 19 years old, was involved in an accident that was not her fault. She couldn’t afford to claim on her own policy or even pay the £500 excess. Nicole contacted G4Law. She was delighted to receive her like-for-like vehicle and she did not have to claim on her own insurance OR pay her £500 excess. The businessman... Mike, a busy estate agent, drives a prestige vehicle for his work. As you can imagine the usual courtesy car was really not suitable for him Mike was guaranteed a like-for-like vehicle from G4Law within the day! He also had peace of mind, knowing that his insurance no-claims bonus was safe. The tradesman... John, a self-employed plumber, was involved in a non-fault accident and had his van written off. With no way to transport his tools, his business came to a halt and therefore his income dried up, too. John contacted G4Law and within 24 hours, he was back in business with a replacement van which was suitable for him to work as normal. No lost customers or work – and no lost no-claims bonus into the bargain.

Your questions answered... What about my insurance company? We will notify your insurance company on your behalf, or ask you to notify them once we have agreed we can help you. They will need to know for information only. The claim is actually against the insurance company of the driver who caused the accident – not yours! What if my car is written off? Comprehensive Insurance: If your vehicle is written off (i.e. uneconomical to repair) your insurance company will be contacted to arrange inspection and agree an valuation. You will have the use of a like-for-like replacement vehicle during this process.

Third Party Cover: If you have third-party cover your vehicle will be inspected by an independent engineer. A valuation for your vehicle will be agreed with you and the at-fault driver’s insurance company. You will have the use of a like-for-like replacement vehicle during this process. What will happen to my car? If your vehicle is driveable, we will organise a suitable repairer and repair date with you. You will then be asked to take your vehicle to the agreed garage, where a replacement vehicle will be waiting for you. When your repairs are complete, you will simply

need to drive our hire car to the garage and leave it there for collection while you drive your own car away. If your vehicle is undrivable, we can arrange for a replacement vehicle to be delivered to your home, work or any other suitable address. We will then organise for your undrivable vehicle to be taken to a repairer. No matter what the situation, we are able to provide car hire, van hire and motorcycle hire, so you are guaranteed a suitable replacement vehicle if need be. Am I fully protected against all costs? You are legally entitled to the service G4Law provides after a non-fault accident, regardless of your vehicle insurance. The bill for any replacement vehicle we provide, or the repairs we organise and fund, are sent to the insurance company of the driver who caused the accident. You will be provided with an insurance policy which guarantees that even if the insurance company of the driver to blame doesn’t settle the bill, you will not end up paying. Will I end up with a big bill? Absolutely not! The charge for our hire car and, if applicable, repairs is passed to the insurance company of the driver who caused the accident. Even if they do not pay, you would be protected by our indemnity policy from the outset.
