3 AFYA BORA PROGRAM

From my interactions with the Kiambu constituency member of parliament, HON MACHUA WAITHAKA I have come to know him as a selfless individual who's commitment to the people is motivated by humanity and a desire to help those in need .When I saw his great work, I couldn't help but feel compelled to document it so that everyone in Kiambu constituency can see the results of their generous votes.

2 FACELIFTING OF SCHOOLS

As i waas doing my campaigns one of the major problems that i identified was that the primary schools within the constituency were neglected and the pupilsz were surviving under very poor conditions. as a result i made a promise to ensure that once i was elected mp i would use all available resources to upgrade the schools by doing total facelifts and that has been one of my major areas of focus.

The MP's AFYA BORA program provides NHIF coverage to elderly people in the constituency. The initiative will ensure that no one over the age of 70 is denied medical care at any hospital due to a lack of funds The Member of Parliament is also issuing walking sticks to all elderly people as part of the same campaign.

Through this initiative, the MP has made it possible for all kiambu constituency day secondary schools students will only pay ksh2000 per term and a free breakfast and lunch. With this project, he intends to enable all students to be able to sustain themselves at school and be able to focus on their education

MASOMO SURE

FACELIFT OF PRIMARY SCHOOLS

As one of his major focus areas Hon. Machua Waithaka has made an initiative to do a total facelift of all primary schools within his consituency. This initiative was motivated by the negligence that was there where pupils would study under very poor environments. The classroom floors were filled with holes which made it dangerous for the pupils and the teachers as they moved within the classes. The roofing sheets were leaking and children would be rained on while in their classes and their books destroyed. The walls were also cracked and all the paint gone which made the school outlook very unpleasant. The school terrain was also very poor and during the rainy seasons the school would be filled with mud while during the sunny season it would be very dusty. The other major issue was insecurities in schools whre there was constant theft and in some schools there were rape cases reported due to lack of a perimeter wall and a proper gate.

So far the MP has managed to do several works in different schools as listed below.

KANGOYA PRIMARY SCHOOL

Kangoya Primary School is located in Kangoya Ndumberi Ward. Despite the fact that the school serves all of the pupils from Ndumberi and Kiambu townships, it has been overlooked for development for nearly a decade. The classrooms were in poor condition, which demotivated both pupils and staff. The school had no perimeter wall, and the entrance was completely damaged, making children extremely vulnerable in an area where rape incidents had been reported.

The MP decided to give the school a total facelift, removing all of the iron sheets and replacing them with new ones. He tilled all of the classrooms and repainted the walls and blackboards. He also undertook cabro work throughout the school area, eventually constructing a perimeter wall and a modern gate.

This development has greatly motivated the students, and the school's outlook has attracted new pupils. Teachers, students, and the community cannot stop thanking the MP for this work. .

ONE STOP SHOP BURSARIES

The Kiambu Constituency bursary application and delivery process has been named the " onestop shop bursary." this is because, unlike before where the bursary application process was time-consuming and expensive due to the need to travel from one site to another, Hon. Machua made things easy.

WHYTHEONESTOPMETHOD?

Summarising the long proces to one quick step

Previously, a parent had to first obtain the form from the CDF office, then have it stamped by the school, then to the local chief, and finally to a church leader before returning it to the CDF offices. Hon Machua Waithaka has expedited the process by bringing the application forms to the all wards with the area chief present, as well as the church and the school busar This eliminated the need for all travel.

Bursary allocation is per student not per household

Hon. Machua Waithaka modified the previous administration's bursary allocation format, which was particularly disadvantageous to parents with more than one child in school. Rather than focusing on the parent, the MP ensured that each child who applied for the bursary benefited. This resulted in the allocation of the greatest number of beneficiaries, with about 9000 children benefiting from the bursaries. This is one of the Mp's success stories because he not only relieved the parents' burden but also made each student's life easier.

Reciepts instead of cheques

Initially, after receiving bursaries, beneficiaries would take the combined cheques from the CDF office, leave their national identity cards at the office, and then proceed to the individual schools to drop the payments Following that, the parent or student would collect receipts for each child and return them to the CDF office to get their IDs, which was both time-consuming and costly All of this came to a stop with the Machua regime, because the parents especially those from schools within the constituency simply came to collect receipts from the school. This has streamlined the procedure and ensured that the checks arrive at school on time

MASOMO SURE NA MACHUA

“ MASOMO SURE NA MACHUA is an initiative by the mp that has provided for all students in day secondary schools within the constituency to pay a total of ksh 2000 per term.

One of the constituency's primary obstacles is illiteracy, which leads to a slew of other social issues such as drug and substance misuse, early and teenage pregnancies, and overall fears.

To address this issue, the MP has launched a campaign to ensure that all pupils attend school. This will also help with the government's 100% transformation program.

The MP has also ensured that all pupils receive a free meal every day, with a cup of porridge at tea break and rice and beans for lunch on Monday, rice and ndengu on Tuesday, and rice and kamande on Wednesday. This has assured that no youngster refuses to attend school owing to hunger.

In general the masomo sure na machua program has greatly improved performances at schools and also increased enrollment since every child can afford to stay in school.

PRIMARY SCHOOLS BUNGE VISITS

Hon Machua Waithaka recently launched a project through his MACHUA MASOMO BORA programs that allows candidates from all public primary schools to visit the Kenya National Assembly Through this program, the MP intends to inspire kids to believe in themselves and to work harder in their academics He also intends to inspire them and show them that they, too, can become future leaders The teachers complimented the MP in their testimonials for the wonderful idea, which not only motivates the children but also supplements their classroom understanding of the

The initiative also intends to give the children a sense of belonging where them being in parliament enables them to learn more about their government and also the history of Kenya, hence relate to it. This plays a big role in enabling them to grow and also acts as practical studies as they learn social studies at school which greatly improves on their performance on the subject, and their studies in general.

So far, the MP has facilitated 10 primary schools from all four wards in his area to visit parliament, including Ndumberi, Tinga'nga, Riabai, and Kiambu township, and he wants to have completed all of the schools before the end of the five-year the term of office.

YOUTH EMPOWERMENT SHORT COURSES

Hon. Machua, through the NG-CDF, has launched a program to enable young people learn free short courses Some of the courses available include masonry, electrical installation, plumbing, tilling, catering, and cosmetology. All of these courses will be accredited by the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA)

Through this program, the MP has provided scholarships to nearly 600 youths from the constituency This effort aims to provide the young generation with technical skills that will enable them to be job creators rather than job seekers, resulting in a self-sustaining generation that is critical to reducing dependency and enhancing our country's economic condition

FREE EYE CHECK UPS

Health Health is a very relatable topicforchildren.Itplaysacrucial role in the physical and mental development of a child. They can shape their life by maintaining their health at this stage of life. Providing a healthy life to children is the responsibility of their parents, guardians, and even the government. The health of the children depends much on the awareness they have and that of thepeoplearoundthem.

With this in mind, Hon. Machua Waithaka during a visit to Mungai Chengecha Primary school to hand over projects discovered that many pupils had eye problems and most of them could not afford the coast of goingtohospital.

seeing as such he created an initiative that would see to it children attended eye clinics where they would be tested and treated free of charge and also payed for those that needed spectacles

NHIF REGISTRATION

A F Y A B O R A

Hon. Machua Waithaka has launched a program to ensure that all senior citizens aged 70 and up get life insurance as part of one of his health projects. This coverage ensures that no older citizen in his constituency is denied access to health care.

The MP set allocated ksh 7 million for this program, which will provide free health care to 333 individuals through the Machua healthcare card.

INFRASTRUCTURE

One of the major problems facing the people of kiambu is poor road connectivity. Despite it proximity to the capital city, the constituency has been left out when it comes to construction of roads. Those that exisist were not p[roperly maintained resulting to difficulty in movement especially during the rainy season.

Since his moving into office, Hon. Machua has been able to lobby for five roads to be upgraded to bitumen standard for seamless connectivity.

For instance, Thindigua location has over the years developed tremendously, but its reaching full potential has been slowed down due to poor road system within the area. Inorder to curb this problem the mp has lobbied for three roads; Thindigua Highway, Tsavo Road and ST. Gregory Kasarini Road. The mp has also lobbied for Ruthiruini road and Gichoco - Ndumberi road, that will connect Riabai location, Ndumberi and Kiambu town to Kiambu Road.

SECURITY

Hon. Machua has repaired and equipped police stations and chiefs camps in his area as part of the NG-CDF initiative to improve security. Most police stations lacked adequate equipment, making it difficult to serve the public. Some locations did not even have a police station and had to operate out of a renting room.

This effort has helped several areas, including the Ting'ang'a ACC office, Kiamumbi police station, Ngegu police station, and Riabai police station.
