“It feels good to establish a fund that will continue to make an impact for years to come,” said Don and Peg, founders of the recently named Don and Peg Harbert Family Scholarship Fund. “The performing arts are so important to a young person’s social development. The conservatory offers tremendous opportunities. Students of all ages can learn and take part in the performing arts. It fills an important need for our community, but not all students can afford to participate. So, we set up a scholarship fund. We want to make those opportunities accessible to a deserving student on an annual basis.”

When the theatre opened in 2008, Don and Peg Harbert were delighted with the wide range of cultural programming close to home. They soon became members and regular attendees. After enjoying the high quality of shows and appreciating the great customer service from staff and volunteers, the couple became Broadway Series subscribers ten years ago. A few years later, they joined the Franklin Square Society, our leadership donor group, to support the theatre’s annual operating needs and Don started to volunteer his time and talent to our organization.

“It’s exciting that the theatre is back in operation and the mainstage is hosting shows again. We are happy to be enjoying a night out at the theatre after such a long intermission. We want to see the continuation of the Broadway Series and first-class performances at the theatre. We love the conservatory’s commitment to a broad range of opportunities for all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Everybody can benefit from performing arts education and enrichment programs,“ explains Don.
