From classical greats to distinguished speakers, jazz to dance—with engaging detours into Weimar cabaret (Max Raabe, pg. 30), genre-crossing virtuosity (Bela Fleck, Zakir Hussain & Edgar Meyer, pg. 30), and artful rock (Stew and the Negro Problem, pg. 8)—the 10–11 season presents the kaleidoscopic array of unparalleled artistry you have come to expect from the Mondavi Center.

Once just another band from East L.A., Los Lobos has grown into an American rootsrock institution. For 35 years they’ve been delivering an eclectic, unmistakable mix of blues, Tex-Mex, pop, psychedelia, and raucous rock ‘n’ roll, all while remaining true to the traditional Mexican music that brought them together in the first place.

In Bamboo to Bronze, the 24-member Çudamani ensemble explores its own artistic history, working constantly to revive and revitalize Bali’s ancient forms. Çudamani maintains and continues to develop repertoire that spans an enormous range of Balinese music and dance genres. Lucinda Childs began her career as choreographer and performer in 1963 as an original member of the Judson Dance Theater in New York.

After forming her own dance company in 1973, Childs embarked on a number of notable collaborations with major composers, the first of which was DANCE (1979), with music by Philip Glass and film and decor by visual artist Sol LeWitt. DANCE was revived in 2009, and this tour provides a rare chance to experience a true artistic masterwork.

Through an extensive and innovative series of master classes for serious young artists, standards-based school matinees for K–12 students, professional development opportunities for teachers, and discussions for UC Davis students, pre-and post-performance discussions for adults, regional forums for arts providers, and a network of national and international partnerships, our goal is to inspire an appreciation and understanding of the performing arts for all members of the community.

Friends of Mondavi Center is an active donor-based volunteer organization that supports the activities of the Mondavi Center presenting program. The mission of the Friends is to assist the Mondavi Center with education, outreach, fundraising, and audience development.

Elevators The Mondavi Center has two passenger elevators serving all levels. They are located at the north end of the Rumsey Rancheria Grand Lobby, near the restrooms and Patron Services Desk.

Restrooms All public restrooms are equipped with accessible sinks, stalls, baby-changing stations, and amenities.

There are six public restrooms in the building: two on the Orchestra level, two on the Orchestra Terrace level, and two on the Grand Tier level.

Parking You may purchase parking passes for individual Mondavi Center events for $6 per event at the parking lot or with your ticket order. Rates are subject to change. Parking passes that have been lost or stolen will not be replaced.

Service Animals Mondavi Center welcomes working service animals that are necessary to assist patrons with disabilities.

Service animals must remain on a leash or harness at all times. Please contact the Mondavi Center Ticket Office if you intend to bring a service animal to an event so that appropriate seating can be reserved for you.

Listening Enhancement Devices Infrared Listening Devices are installed in both Jackson Hall and the Vanderhoef Studio Theatre.

Receivers that can be used with or without hearing aids are available for patrons who have difficulty understanding the dialogue or song lyrics. They may be checked out at no charge from the Patron Services Desk near the lobby elevators. The Mondavi Center requires an ID to be held at the Patron Services Desk until the device is returned.

Requests for sign language interpreting, real-time captioning, Braille programs, and other reasonable accommodations should be made with at least two weeks notice. The Mondavi Center may not be able to accommodate last-minute requests. Requests for these accommodations may be made when purchasing tickets at 530.754.2787 or TDD 530.754.5402.

50% off the regular single ticket price Student tickets are for registered students 18 and older with a valid ID card. All student ticket holders must show a valid student ID card at the door when entering the venue where event occurs.

Children’s tickets are for all patrons ages 17 and younger. As a courtesy to other audience members, please use discretion in bringing a young child to an evening performance. All children, regardless of age, are required to have tickets, and any child attending an evening performance should be able to sit quietly through the performance.

UC Davis Faculty and Staff UC Davis faculty and staff, both current and retired, are eligible for an employee discount of 10% off two tickets (Series, CYO, Pick 3, or regular price single tickets.) To qualify for the discount, a UC Davis email address, staff ID, or health insurance card must be provided.

Groups Entertain friends, family, classmates, or business associates and save. Groups of 20 or more qualify for a 10% discount off regular prices. Payment must be made in a single check or credit card transaction.
