Zurich Chamber Orchestra
Daniel Hope, music director and violin
One of the pleasures of working at the Mondavi Center is the ability to build relationships with artists and ensembles. Hearing a few bars of the Zurich Chamber Orchestra were all the encouragement we needed to invite them back. For this program, violinist Daniel Hope (artistic planner at the New Century Chamber Orchestra) and company pair Vivaldi’s classic Four Seasons with German composer Max Richter’s riveting re-interpretation of the piece. The program builds on Hope’s most recent album, released in 2017 and titled For Seasons, which is his very personal homage to the seasons.
