WILD FAE
FLURRYFIE

THE IDEA

Buttercup fields in bloom and a special untouched field in Moycullen prompted this afternoon of painting, photography and play between two friends.

THE UNFOLDING
LETTING THINGS FLOW
The weather was good and we were both free. We picked colours that seemed right on the day and went with smaller canvases to reflect the hives of activity going on in the nature around us.

THE PAINTINGS
A POINT OF CONNECTION
Finbar paints with spray paints that fill up the air with a dizzying heavy vanilla spray. We start off with one and will eventually end up with 7 paintings.
Julia captures photos and forages surrouding herbs for tea to connect us with the land fully. We carry an incense stick as we walk.

WESTART WITH THANKS
Creativity in itself is a gift that opens up and fills the space around us. We walk through mindfully through the light and dark parts of the wilderness and express gratitude to the elements.

One of the most helpful lessons I’ve learned from Finbar is to just embrace the outcome without judgement. Honour the steps, they are all leading to something. IT’S JUST BEING
NORIGHT OR WRONG

FOLLOWTHELIGHT

We move locations to the lakeside hill to follow the light and keep the momentum going. Nature always focuses your attention on what it wants to show you. We are enthusiastically accompanied by George the dog. Animals are so keenly attuned and release many blockages to embodied fearless expression.

DOGROSE

GOLDEN HOUR
AT BALLYQUIRKE LOUGH
As the sunset starts creeping in we are mindful of not overstaying our welcome with the badgers and fairy folk but I think there is one more painting to be born.

MOON SHINE

The last painting and the last photo is often the most thrilling. The moon comes out to join us for a moment and the land dances in delight. It’s only fitting we capture it and honour it. Draíocht means magic in Irish and it is coming to the forefront of my mind without prompting.
