Cruinniú na nÓg 2025 - Monaghan Programme of Events

Page 1

Introduction

Monaghan County Council is delighted to launch a jam-packed programme for Cruinniú na nÓg 2025. The programme is coordinated by Creative Monaghan and delivered by artists, creatives and community organisations across County Monaghan.

Ireland is the first, and only, country in the world to have a national day of free creativity for children and young people under 18. Cruinniú na nÓg is a flagship initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme’s Creative Youth Plan to enable the creative potential of children and young people.

Following an open call to creative practitioners, artists and the wider community to get involved, a diverse, inclusive programme has been devised to reach children and young people across County Monaghan. From film, to dance, to arts and crafts, there is something for all ages to engage in.

We look forward to seeing children and young people engaging in the programme with plenty of laughter, all while learning through creativity and simply having fun together!

Cruinniú Projects

This year we are pleased to support several projects as part of our wider Cruinniú programme. These projects take place in the weeks leading up to Cruinniú na nÓg and culminate with an activity or presentation on Cruinniú Day. Projects are led by creative practitioners and provide children and young people with an opportunity to engage in creative activities over a sustained period of time.

Cruinniú Shared Island

The Cruinniú na nÓg – Shared Island initiative seeks to build on the experience and expertise of local authorities’ existing strategic north-south ambitions and transform them into a collaborative network across the island of Ireland. It intends to recognise and utilise the inherent creativity of all who live on the island of Ireland. This year Monaghan County Council received funding from the Shared Island Fund to support cross-border engagement in our Cruinniú programme.
