Hollywood Angus: strategic herd selection
A registered stud since 2000, Hollywood Angus offers bulls and heifers, for private sale, throughout the year. Herd selection is based on phenotype (structural correctness, tight sheaths, neat udders, eye appeal), EMA, docility, feed efficiency, calving ease. Scanned bulls have big EMA, heavy weights and high DWG. ET (from superior home bred cows) and judicious use of AI, complement use of excellent homebred sires. Royal Show winning progeny and efficient paddock sires are the result.
Females exhibit longevity, high fertility, excellent mothering, kind dispositions and trouble free calving. Bulls suitable for use over heifers available, as well as higher performing cow bulls. Heifers suitable for showing available now and ready for junior shows. Vaccinated and Breedplan recorded. Inspections invited.

Endophytes can take pasture performance and persistence to the next level by protecting pastures from insects after your seed treatment wears off.
“While a pasture seed treatment such as Ultrastrike® will protect your pasture from insects during establishment (0-6 weeks), an endophyte provides the plant with protection from eight weeks onwards,” says Isaac Berry, DLF Seeds Product Development Manager.
An endophyte is a fungus found naturally in many grass species, including ryegrass. It protects the plant from insects; in return, it offers the endophyte a place to live and reproduce.
Tim Calder, a farmer from Meeniyan Victoria, has had great success protecting his pasture against African Black Beetle with AR37 endophyte. “Several years ago, African Black Beetle appeared on our farm, decimating our Italian and some permanent ryegrass pastures which brought about a change in pasture variety selection
