“It was such an amazing experience, especially being away in Italy with my parents in the stand,” the words of South Molton’s Emma Sing, after scoring a try against Italy in only her second appearance for England’s Red Roses rugby team in the prestigious Six Nations Championship.
“Every opportunity I get I try to take with two hands, and be the best player I can be on the pitch,” added Emma.
The 21 year old veterinary student had made her debut the week before against Scotland, putting in a dazzling second half performance (left).
England captain Sarah Hunter told Molton Monthly, “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Emma into the Red Roses. She’s impressed us all in training and we’re all really excited to see her develop further.”

“It was amazing that she was selected again and we were so happy that she scored her first England try. The smile on her face said it all,” said her mum Wendy. “We are so very proud of her and this is all down to her hard work and commitment.”
A spokesman for her former school, South Molton Community College said, “Scoring her first test try while winning her second full England cap is a fantastic achievement, demonstrating that determination and effort can reap huge rewards.”
