Tourist attraction dementia award

Rebecca Butler (centre) receives the award for Quince Honey Farm The team at Quince Honey Farm have become a ‘Dementia Aware Company’. Through the Purple Angel Global Dementia Awareness Programme, staff have learned how to provide a welcoming and understanding service to those with the condition.

Dementia programme ambassadors Stephen and Christine Lock (above) say they’re delighted to welcome the South Molton tourist attraction to the scheme, “Staff have gained the knowledge of how to recognise people suffering from dementia and help them enjoy their visit.” Quince Honey Farm team manager Karen Jewell added, “It’s important to make sure all our visitors feel comfortable. We’re very proud to display the Purple Angel symbol in our window.”
