Welcoming

your new Molmic sofa home...

Now that you’ve received your new Molmic sofa, here are some important homecoming tips you should keep in mind:

• Your sofa is just as important to us, so we want to make sure that it has been well packaged and protected during its journey to your home. Please don’t be alarmed if you notice a few crush marks on your sofa, as these will naturally ease over the next fewĀ weeks.

• When removing the packaging, do not use sharp tools as it may damage the fabric cover.

• Cushions may appear firmer than those you sat on in the showroom. All seats will soften with use, so remember to use all seating equally and rotate on a regular basis.

• Please be careful with pets around your new sofa. Damage resulting from chew/claw and oil residue from fur is not covered within our warranty terms.

• Floor protectors are recommended if your sofa is to be used on floorboards, these are available from your local hardware store.

Please note: If you or a third party are contracted to collect from a warehouse or showroom, we cannot be held responsible for transit damage caused thereafter.

Caring for your sofa

To ensure your sofa looks the best for many years to come, here are some helpful tips on how to care and maintain:

• The best way to move your sofa is to lift it from the base, never drag. Removing seat and back cushions will lighten the load considerably.

• To avoid fabric fading from sun damage, do not expose it to direct sunlight. Allow a minimum distance of 50cm from any heat source.

• Armrests and backrests are not designed for seating.

• To keep your sofa looking its best you should plump and shape it regularly and rotate all cushions for even wear.

For more information on how to plump your cushions, visit: molmic.com.au

It's what's inside that

counts...

Frame

Your Molmic frame is constructed of forest renewable timbers and hardwood used in stress areas to deliver greater structural integrity and a 10-year warranty.

Super Loop Springs and No Sag Steel Suspension

These enable us to offer luxurious seating and durability, the addition of cross steel tubes gives extra reinforcement.

Foams

A combination of foam densities provides the right level of comfort for each model. Foams have been treated with anti-micro bacterial treatments to eliminate odours and dust mites. They are certified by GECA supporting environmental initiatives.

Seat Cushions

These are a mix of fibre and feather blend fillings along with comfort support foams and memory foams.

Back Cushions

These are carefully constructed channel filled inserts that use a combination of small duck feather and fibre balls. These miniaturised silicone-coated fibre balls resist clumping and ensure a more lofty luxurious feel.

Scatter Cushions

Scatter cushions can be supplied with 100% feather inserts or fibre-filled inserts.

Plumping

your feather filled cushions

Many of our designs feature feather-filled cushions, which require extra love and care. Feathers love air! The more often maintained, the better they will perform. Our options for feather cushions include Molmic Feather Blend Cushion, Molmic Feather Top Seat Cushion, and Molmic Feather ComfortĀ Wrap.

For the best way to maintain your cushions, follow the plumping instructions below, so that you and your loved ones enjoy our comfort for generations.

1

2

Completely lift your seat cushion off your sofa and place on its side on theĀ ground.

3

Push down on the cushion side multiple times to assist in aerating the feathers that may have settled.

Repeat on all four sides.

Once the feathers have been aerated, return the seat cushion making sure the zip faces the back of the sofa.

Rotating the seat and back cushions will assist with even wear and increase longevity.

Fabric Care

Molmic recommends professional cleaning of your sofa each year to keep it looking its best.

Please refer to your fabric care code sewn to your sofa under the seat cushions to determine the correct method of care and cleaning. These cleaning instructions are based on the fibre content of your fabric and are recommended by the FIAA (Furniture Industry Association of Australia).

Pilling

It is important to note that pilling is not a fabric fault, pilling is caused by friction. In the general course of using furniture, loose fibres tend to move to the surface of the fabric when they are subject to friction. This is considered normal and will reduce once the excess fibres have beenĀ removed.

Pilling is more prevalent on fabrics of man-made fibres. Natural fabrics shed their loose fibres whilst man-made fibres being very strong, tend to cling to the fabric. Pilling does not reduce the longevity and wearability of your furniture.

A battery-operated pill shaver is the simplest way to remove pilling.

Creepage

Chenille yarn like most napped fabrics can become disrupted during general use and may result in apparent changes to colour and pile.

When the chenille fibres are raised on the reverse side of the fabric, cushion inserts can become susceptible to movement against the japara resulting in creepage. This is not considered a fault of manufacturing and therefore not covered by our warranty however, there may be additional maintenance required.

A discussion with your designer/sales consultant to determine the suitability of your fabric choice and sofa selection is considered prudent. Rectification after manufacture will incur additional costs by theĀ consumer.

Leather Care

Leather is a natural product. Aging brings out its natural patina, making it even more beautiful over time and therefore requires some care to maintain the natural beauty of the hide.

To protect your leather furniture, here are some useful tips:

• Keep it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, as it can cause drying, cracking and fading.

• Good leather conditioner is recommended every 6 –12 months, we recommend Molmic’s Leather Care Kit, but there are other suitable products on the market.

• Use a dry cloth for dusting and vacuum in crevices or along the bottom.

• For minor spots and spills, wipe up any excess liquid immediately with a clean absorbent cloth or sponge.

• If necessary, clean with lukewarm water and let it air dry naturally. If water is used, clean the entire area, use only a white damp cloth that is colorfast.

• Never use cleaning solvents, furniture polish, oils, varnish, abrasive cleaners or any ammonia in water.

• For butter, oil or grease stains, wipe off excess with a clean dry cloth then leave alone. The spot should dissipate into the leather after a short period of time. If the stain persists, it is recommended that a professional leather specialist clean the leather to avoid any potential damage to the leather itself.

Please note: Follow the care instructions located under your seat cushion for correct suitability to your leather type.

Warranty Claim

Need to make a warranty claim?

Retailers and Trade Designers are the first point of contact for their clients, should any concernsĀ arise.

If a genuine warranty claim is identified by the Retailer/Trade Designer, please submit a claim by completing the Molmic Warranty Claim Form and emailing it to aftercare@molmic.com.au

Our team will review the details of the claim with the aim of ensuring customer satisfaction. During the review process, they will assess whether the issue stems from a manufacturing defect or if it is attributed to other factors such as fabric faults, transport damage, warehouse, or customer damage. This evaluation is crucial for determining the appropriate resolution.

Please note:

• Warranty claims are only valid to the original purchaser.

• All requested information on warranty claim form is required for your claim to proceed, this includes Images.

• We remind customers that softening of seat fillings between 10% and 30% will occur with use. This is not to be considered a warranty claim and falls within industryĀ standards.

• Feather cushions going flat or losing feathers is often a maintenance issue. If cushions are not maintained, feathers will escape. Follow ā€œPlumping your feather filled cushionā€ in this booklet and on our website for maintenance instructions before raising claim.

Response:

• Molmic Aftercare team will contact you within 48 business hours of receiving your claim.

• If necessary, a Molmic representative will be arranged to inspect product.

• We endeavour to repair product on site where possible.

• Where product cannot be remedied on site, Molmic will require return to factory for suitableĀ repair.

• If a claim is not covered under the Molmic Warranty, Molmic will endeavour to provide appropriate advice or discuss any available options.

Note: If product is deemed damaged by use and not the result of manufacturing defect, then repair and freight charges will apply.
