IN-PERSON PROGRAMS - MOISHE HOUSES & PODS Over the past 18+ months, young adults have reported increased feelings of anxiety, depression or loneliness due to the pandemic. With the rollout of the vaccines and other safety measures, Moishe Houses and Moishe Pods have proven ideally positioned for young adults to start integrating back into social gatherings. BEYOND THE HOUSES Moishe House acquires and grows the Base Movement Since welcoming the Base Movement to the Moishe House family, Base has expanded to add two additional Base locations in Chicago, bringing our network to nine rabbic couples leading pluralistic, home based communities for young adults in Boston, Chicago, Miami and New York City. In Q3 Moishe House received significant funding from the Crown Family Philanthropies to expand in 2022, with Base opening in two new communities contingent on securing full local funding.

Moishe House’s Jewish summer camp for young adults returned to an in-person experience in 2021, hosting a sold-out group of 100 campers at Capital Camps in Waynesboro, PA over Labor Day. Given the success of this experience, Camp Nai Nai Nai has added an additional camp in December 2021, to be held at Greene Family Camp outside of Dallas.

Moishe House Research & Development: Remote Working from Israel and Co-Working at Moishe Houses Onward Israel We partnered with Onward Israel to provide a cohort of over 20 young professionals the opportunity to spend 4-8 weeks in Israel with our Career Onward experience this fall.

Participants worked in their current roles with approval from their employers while immersing themselves in the life and culture of Israel.

Co-Working Workspace Pilot Program Our Research & Development (R&D) team is testing a new concept. We have launched a co-working space pilot program in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Rome. Think of it as Moishe House meets Starbucks or WeWork. This concept is catching on as a viable option for working professionals who desire a human connection throughout the work week.

Moishe House Alumni With the addition of the Senior Manager of Alumni Relations position in 2021, Moishe House is developing new programs and pathways for engagement for Moishe House’s diverse global network of nearly 10,000 alumni. Key initiatives have included:

• We launched our Moishe House Networking Forum on LinkedIn for MH alumni and community builders, giving our partners in the Jewish nonprofit field the opportunity to connect with, and recruit from our pool of vetted leaders.

• In July, we celebrated our first ever Alumni Appreciation Month which saw the debut of our newly revamped Alumni Giving Communities with 5 separate societies based on giving level, brought in $23,000 from alumni, updated over 500 alumni contacts, and launched a brand new website and newsletter for alumni.

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT “The sole reason we bought our kitchen table was that it could fit the maximum number of people for Shabbat. If you don’t know where to go, call us and you’ll always have a spot. We have a few more high chairs and it’s a bit messier than it used to be but [hosting] is one of the things we love most.”
