Scope of Mechanical Engineering
What exactly is Mechanical Engineering?
Mechanical engineering is the branch of engineering that deals with the design, production, maintenance, and testing of machines. It is also considered to be one of the most diverse and multipurpose engineering disciplines. Mechanical engineering also includes mechanics, material science, applied mathematics, and physics.
Mechanical engineering has gained new prominence as a result of the advancement of modern technology, with an increasing number of students opting to learn less explored domains such as robotics, mechatronics, Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, digital manufacturing, nanotechnology, smart materials, and so on.

Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical engineering is one of the most enduring branches of engineering, and it has always been a favourite among creative minds since its inception. Mechanical engineering is concerned with machines, thermodynamics, fluids, mechanics, and structural analysis. Mechanical engineering applications are ubiquitous and inextricably linked to society. Even in today's digital world, the theories of Mechanical Engineering are used in the design of some of the best and most proficient state-of-the-art motor vehicles, developed units, airplanes, and other industrial machinery. Mechanical engineers contribute to the expansion of power equipment, engines, and complex machinery systems, in addition to machinery and vehicles. Mechanical engineers' tasks include not only strategy and manufacturing, but also maintenance and testing of such machinery and equipment.
Manufacturing uses for mechatronics and robotics
Mechatronics is a developing area of engineering that combines the use of mechanical, electronics, control, and computer engineering to create systems, processes, and products that are more adaptable, simple to redesign, and reprogrammable. Every invention used on a daily basis, including cars, automatic washing machines, auto-focusing digital cameras, industrial robotics, hard drives, and electro-pneumatic valves, uses mechatronics.
A robot system used for industrialization is known as an industrial robot. Robots are frequently used for tasks that require high levels of strength, speed, and precision, such as welding, painting, assembly line work, picking and placing printed circuit boards, packaging and labeling, palletizing, product inspection, and testing. Robots are used in manufacturing almost everywhere, but India has a huge potential for manufacturing them, and multi-skilled mechanical engineers are constantly in demand for this work.
