Introduction A dedicated group of individuals embarked on a dream to create a strong education base in the district of Vijayapur. As a result in 1910, BLDE Association was founded and set an unparalleled example with the network of over 100 Institutions.

About BLDEA The Bijapur Liberal District Educational Association (BLDEA) was established in 1910. Founded by Philanthropists and Visionaries par excellence, who foresaw the tremendous scope and significance of education in North Karnataka region, the BLDE Association has emerged as one of the foremost charitable associations in Karnataka. Shri B. M. Patil, a renowned statesman, was one of the most notable custodians of the Association has honed and nurtured 75 Educational Institutions. With a dedicated staff exceeding 2500 in number, the BLDE Association at present, offers world-class education to over 25,000 students at its sprawling campuses, replete with all modern, state-of-the-art facilities and amenities.

Continuing its tradition of educational development and advancement, the BLDE Association has established the Autonomous 'BLDE University'. For the BLDE Association, it is a gigantic stride in terms of offering more customized and specialized educational programs to thousands of talented future professionals, gaining knowledge at its campuses.

Infrastructure

Classrooms The classrooms are equipped with multimedia and audiovisual equipment to facilitate effective learning. They are designed to promote maximum interaction between the faculty and the students.

Library The College has an excellent library with 52000 plus volumes to its credit. It is kept open from *:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on all working days. It is kept open for more than these specified hours, during examination season. The students are allowed to entry into library only on submission of identity card at the counter. A maximum of 4 Books is issued to students on Borrowers' ticket and from the book bank facility. Arrangements have been made for the students to identify the books available on the computer terminal and the required book can be demanded on a written slip. The reading room receives English and Kannada dailies. In addition a good number of national weeklies, fortnightlies, international publications and Educational Software CDs are also available. Hence the student are instructed to use library and reading room facilities.

Computer Lab The college has a well equipped computer laboratory with air condition is located over the area of 1397 KO with broad-band internet facility & LAN. The lab has Smart Board, 54 computers, 3 printers, LCD projector, scanner and other peripherals are connected to the network. Useful educational CD packages have been provided to the students & thus lab serves as a resourcecenter. To integrate Information System Technology into the present curriculum, the College has Internet connectivity. The faculty & the students are encouraged & allowed to serf the net free of cost. The internet facility is available for the students during college working hours.

Sports Sports play an important role in the physical development of the Students. Specially trained coaches render systematic training in athletics, volleyball, basketball, football, hockey, cricket etc.

The sportsmen represent the college at the district, zonal, and state level competitions bringing laurels to themselves and to the college. Our institution has its credit with number of spacious and well maintained fields and courts for the indoor and outdoor games.

Infrastructure Career Guidance & Placement The college has a separate cell which offers career guidance & placement facilities to the students. The cell is dedicated to help the students to access their career interest & aptitude.

Project genesis programme sponsored by Infosys which imparts training to final year students for placement purpose in their company. It organises mock interviews, group discussions, training camps.

A technologically adept campus A campus wide wireless computing network is in place that allows faculty, staff and students to log on to the Internet at any point of time. The Internet lab powered by dedicated leased lines is open for students even after college hours to help them spend extra time to make use of the abundant information available on the Internet.

IT Infrastructure The college has a state of the art computer centre with a campus-wide LAN network facility all interconnected with Ethernet connectivity. Every workplace on the campus, including faculty rooms, offices, computer labs, library and administrative offices, has network connectivity with internet access.

Health Club The college has a multi gym & fitness center with all modern facilities available for students and faculty.

Helipad The college has a helicopter pad for the lending of helicopters.

Campus Life Life at BLDEA is an exciting story of learning, progression and celebration, which provides overall educational experience to students through a wide range of extracurricular programmes, facilities, management events and other activities. This endeavor is aimed at exposing them to the practical aspects of Business, leadership and corporate life. Such an experience enriches the lives of students and helps them in exerting their potential.

Co-curricular and extracurricular activities are planned and executed through a number of clubs, managed by representatives of students and are monitored by the faculty in-charge.
