RESEARCH + CONCEPT

Inspired by UAE’s on-going mission to lead in future foresight, the thesis investigates the most recent technologies, namely, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Robotics, Virtual and Augmented Realities, and their potential effect on the future of humans, cities and the natural environment.

A vision of the future is constructed where Humans, technology and nature coexist in harmony, by blurring boundaries between the three.

The program

proposes spaces that will encourage people to explore the technology of the future, push for more research and development in the area of intelligence and promote sustainable futures and ways of living.

FORM FINDING

Using parametric design, “surface creation from contour lines”, the form appears to be emerging from the park, a contextual design solution that gives back to the surrounding with views that have never been enjoyed before.

BRIEF + CONCEPT

University of Sharjah announced the establishment of a new college for computing and informaics in 2019.

The establishment of this College coincide with the pillars of the national agenda of the UAE that emphasizes artificial intelligence, security technologies, computing and IT applications. The new College is decided to be locaed at the university campus beside the fine arts college, with an area of 18600 sq m.

The human brain is considered to be the most facinating computer ever known, the architecture of the brain and computer resemble each other where they both consist of circuits for input, output and central processing. From those similarities, CCI is a technology-based knowledge environment where students wil have meaningful dialogue and collaboration and can criticaly evaluate and synthesize concept, opinions and perspectives.

BRIEF + CONCEPT

Sharjah Oasis for Technology and Innovation (SOTI), is a free zone authority, that aims to revolutionize the environment of innovation, creativity and scientific pursuits within the Emirate. The goal of SOTI is to create a generation of Emirati researchers, who will lead the nation’s development in several fields including science, technology and artificial intelligence.

Innovation is a big idea, an idea is the result of the collision of smaller hunches creating something bigger than themselves. Nerve cells tend to move toward connecting together during the process of thinking or creating an idea. Similarly, as people come to SOTI to innovate, the increase in connectivity and the ability to reach out and exchange ideas with other people pushes to greater innovation. SOTI is designed to become a melting pot where ideas are created.

CONCEPT + ROLES

The vision for the project has been to connect the building, the resort style amenities and the beach experience to the sea by allowing visual and physical connection. The massing emphasizes on Creating unique moments across the elevation vertically, while the horizontal treatment of the facade, by expressing the slabs, allows for strong visual connection with the beachfront.

Under both, Direct and Indirect supervision, I have been assigned various 3D modelling tasks, including facade details, podium and landscape design. In Addition, I have worked on updating the WIP reports used for the weekly presentations to the client.
