t’s date night! Whether you’re headed out for a summer fling or a longtime thing, you’ll want to dress to impress. APRICOT LANE (apricotlaneboutique. com) has fashionable attention-getting styles for the cosmopolitan trendsetter that you are. The boutique, which opened in 2011, mixes relaxed, bicoastal looks with sophisticated, chic outfits. Diane Holtz, the sole-owner of the Fairfield location on the Post Road, picks three date-night inspired pieces (above) that are perfect for the transition into summer romance. They’re comfortable for hot days and nights, with flirty thigh-high cuts, plunging necklines with crisscross straps and off-the-shoulder ruffles for a confidence boost just when you need it. fairfieldlivingmag.com

“Dreamt up in seaside New England and brought to life in Brooklyn, New York, PEARL STREET SWIM is a timeless, coastal-inspired children’s swimwear label capturing the imaginative and playful spirit of our little ones,” says Sophie Sikaitis, founder of the new children’s line making waves across Fairfield. The first summer after Sophie had her first baby, Penelope, she was discouraged by the “lack of beautiful, simple and childfriendly swimsuits on the market for her baby girl.” In response to the “character-decorated, neon-colored, not-enough-coverage options,” she took matters into her own hands and created pieces in both solid and illustrated prints that are not only SPF 50 and chlorine resistant, but also made with active, breathable fabric that is perfect for on-the-go kids. After the launch of the line in March last year, and following the birth of her second baby, Everly, Sophie and her husband, Jeffrey, relocated to Fairfield. Being just a stone’s throw away from Penfield Beach and surrounded by the nautical vibe of the town further transformed her swim line with coastal-cute style. The family has settled right in. “In search of an intentional and creative life by the sea, a place to grow my family and the business, I have been overwhelmed by how supportive the Fairfield community is,” she says.
