Aflrpn upsets No. 1-ranked Moeller /Z-~i'9~Seneca Herring scored 19 points to lead a balanced Aiken attack, and the Falcons knocked off top-ranked Moeller, 76-72, at Aiken on Saturday night. Moeller was ranked No. 1 in The Enquirer's coaches poll going into the game. Aiken placed all of its starters in double figures and played excellent team defense. Moeller's Bobby Brannen had a big first half, scoring 23, but the Falcons defense - which had 16 steals - slowed him down in the second, holding him to 10 points. Aiken improved to 5-1, and Moeller dropped to 3-1.

The Moeller boys' basketball team recorded a 92-68 victory Thursday night in the Indianap· oils Marriott Shootout over Car· dinal Ritter of St. Louis, the country's 25th-ranked team in Street and Smith's preseason high school poll. Behind intense pressure defense, Moeller jumped out to a 19-3 lead and never looked back. Cardinal Ritter features one of the nation's tallest frontcourts. Jahidi White, who is headed for Georgetown, couldn't handle Moeller's defense and committed 29 turnovers.
