welcome to the rebirth issue: This issue marks a very special milestone for MOD Magazine, as not only the last issue of the year, but also the final issue of our first decade as a publication! As we prepare to celebrate our upcoming 10th Anniversary, I can’t help but think back to the beginning—it was January of 2012 when we published the first issue of MOD Magazine, and since then, it’s become greater than I could’ve imagined! We’ve been so lucky to collaborate with so many amazingly talented creatives along the way, without whom, none of this would be possible. To have even made it this far, through all the challenges and setbacks, is a blessing that I make sure not to take for granted. It’s been a hell of a first chapter, and I’m beyond excited to usher in the next!

a lot of growth and improvement, as we slowly and steadily evolved into the magazine we are today. Looking forward, we plan to continue that trend and reach even greater heights! Starting in 2022, we will begin building the new MOD Magazine upon the foundation laid within the past ten years. We will continue to challenge ourselves to be better than we were before, and keep adapting and evolving as the years go by. There are already some exciting things in the works, which we cannot wait to share with you all!

This rising star is making waves as the first Indian actress

to land a series-regular role in an Apple TV series in the United States. The ultra-talented actress, previously known for her role as Kukoo on Netflix’s ‘Sacred Games’, can be seen as Phara in Apple TV and Isaac Asimov’s Sci-Fi series

‘Foundation’. Kubbra chats with MOD about her exciting

ell us a little about your life, growing up. I was born and raised in a South Indian city named Bangalore, it’s now Bengaluru. The city was as protected as I was. In 2005, the city went through its metamorphosis and change swept over me and the city. Many different parts of the country thronged to my city… and I decided to move to Dubai for career prospects. I knew I had to get an acceptable job, in order to be accepted. 5 years in Dubai and 3 years at Microsoft, I found myself in charge of pursuing a distant dream of being a actor or at least an attempt at being famous. At this point, I didn’t know how the two were connected, or how I would be either of them. Growing up, we were a cat household and I still am a cat parent to a white Persian Shifu Sait. (Shifu as in master Shifu from Kung Fu Panda). At what point did you discover your love for acting and decide to make it your profession? It was 2010 when I cracked my first audition. Did many blink-and-miss roles in Hindi films and advertisements, hosted LIVE events in the capacity of Master Of Ceremonies. But it was really 2017 when I found myself acting. It was for a series titled Sacred Games, I played a transgender named Kukoo. She is the love interest of the most wanted criminal of the city of Mumbai. The acting role catapulted me into a new undefined space of performers. That was only the beginning. It was really then, that very moment, when I wanted to pursue a career as an actor. Who/what inspires you and why? My inspiration… Ellen Degeneres, I’d say without blinking. She is the funnest, most natural speaker/moderator with a streak of kindness and goodness in the world we live in. Back at home, we have several actors and performers to look up to and be proud to share a similar streak of awesomeness. You star in Apple TV’s Sci-Fi series Foundation. What can you tell us about the show? Foundation is a science-fiction series, the expanse of which is being translated by David S. Goyer and Josh Friedman. A TV series which is the only and first adaptation of the Foundation series by Issac Asimov. The story is set thousands of years after earth. It’s humanity and challenges of the race in a new galaxy. It feels as dystopian as the world we live in. It brings me so much pride to be associated with this show, not only as a peg of inclusivity but as an actor who made it to this magnum opus based on vigorous rounds of auditions. Tell us about your character Phara? Phara is daunting—she is the Grand Huntress of the ANACREONS. She is driven by one single mission, to destroy Trantor, the planet which is inhabited by the Cleons/ the Empire. She has her army. She is bullish and undeterred.

She won’t stop anytime or for anything until she has seen the Empire pay for its atrocities. The first impending crisis as predicted by Hari Seldon (Jared Harris). What are some notable similarities and differences between you and this character? I wish I had her passion and focus. But I am glad I don’t have her wrath. What are some fun or interesting stories you recall from your time on set? I was thrown into the deep end, as soon as I was confirmed to play Phara. Stunts, language and everything that was alien to me, became a part of the journey. On many occasions, we would laugh if we were actors on the same show… because Lee Pace and the Empire looks so different from the residents of Terminus and Phara who has come from Anacreon. They were all so prim and proper and we (Salvor Hardin - Leah Harvey) were always oh so muddy and dirty. I got to wear a space suit on this… can someone tell me it wasn’t a dream?! Your role on Foundation makes you the first Indian actress to land a series regular role on an Apple TV series in the US. What does this historical accomplishment mean to you? I am a part of the Foundation series—that is a huge moment to revel in. In Jan 2020, I was the only Indian actor on the series, soon to be joined with Pravessh Rana for the same. It didn’t sink in for a very long time. Nobody, including myself, took it seriously. I do think when I heard the words, “That’s a wrap on Phara for season one,” is when it all came down in tears of joy and exasperation. You’re also known for your role as Kukoo on Netflix series Sacred Games. What’s your favorite thing about your experience playing this character? Kukoo was a life-altering character to play. I didn’t fully understand the impact of playing Kukoo—[what it] would mean to me as a person, my thoughts and that it would make me a poster child of the LGBTQIA community in India. Soon after the release of Sacred Games, our country’s honorable Supreme Court abolished Section 377, decriminalising the people engaging in oral and anal sex or homosexual activity. It was a breath of fresh air. I am still learning how to correctly use pronouns, so as to be a true ally and not just in terms of representation. It also brought my career to a shapely start. Something that everyone who comes to Mumbai dreams of. Who are some actors/directors you’d like to work with in the future? I’d love to brush shoulders with Meryl Streep… that would be a blessing. I am a huge fan of Hugh Laurie and his stiff upper lip. There are so many wonderful creators in today’s entertainment world, both experienced and new—I feel working in Foundation has only extended my canvas and provided me the opportunity to color out of the lines. What’s one of the biggest challenges you’ve faced in your

career and how did you overcome it? Challenges are meant to be overcome. I don’t usually mull into the challenges, I take them on the chin and heal and move on. So it is really hard for me to jog my memory to tell you what might be an experience that taught me something in specific. The one learning I have though, is to remind myself each day that I am replaceable and only as good as my last job. I also remind myself to NOT take myself too seriously. What’s your favorite travel destination and why? I am a traveler. I am a diver. I would love to dive in Belize and Palau. I’ve had the good fortune to visit Japan… it would be wonderful to visit it in Autumn for cherry blossom. Describe your personal style? My personal style… blue denims and a white shirt or tee shirt. I have so many of these that I really lose myself in the tones of blue in my wardrobe. But it also makes anything else that my stylist tries on me look worth my while. I like trying new things… but only for the red carpet. Else, give me comfort any day. What are some beauty products you can’t live without? Can’t do without my lip balm and blush. I love the hint of pink on my cheeks. I love looking flush. What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? When someone asked me, “how did Sacred Games change your life?” My brother Danish Sait said, “My sister’s life is the same, her career has changed.” It’s truly important to differentiate between who you are and what you do. Describe your perfect day. Wake up. Lemon water. Check schedule for the day. Cat hugs and cuddles and coffee, and some music followed by yoga and work. I like to know what I am doing. I prefer not to rush things. Oooh! And if I can finish my day and slip into bed by 10 PM, I’ll celebrate in my dreams. What are some things you like to do in your spare time? I travel, I am in the process of editing my memoir, I read—simple things make me happy. I sometimes will go shopping, just because it makes me happy and eventually tired. What’s something on your bucket list? New Zealand and South America are the two countries on my bucket list. I hope work takes me there. I had never visited the Canary Islands… thanks to Foundation, I did. What’s your mantra? Be aware. What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you? I am a curious bunny about things. New ideas and experiences excite me instantly.

andy: Tell us where you are from and where you consider home. Tati: I am from the San Francisco Bay Area and that is where I consider home. I mean, I guess I live in L.A. now, but I still consider the bay my home—my family is still there, and I try to get home when I can. Sandy: Congrats on being recognized as one of Forbes’ Hollywood & Entertainment 30 Under 30 in 2021. How do you feel? Tati: I think it is still really just mind blowing for me. I think it was a huge honor and it’s such a surprise. Yeah, I just aim to live up to that and be able to progress in my career, life, and with philanthropy. It is still very surreal, and I haven’t really had the moment to digest it because I’ve been working so much. But it’s truly an honor! Sandy: Your Instagram bio reads “Vintage Gangster, Hippie Sailor”—can you elaborate more on these please? Tati: So, it’s in two parts: obviously Vintage Gangster and then Hippie Sailor. Vintage Gangster—I am a really big kid, and I love all things vintage: trinkets, clothes, and furniture. People say that I have an old soul. Half of that is from my dad, and my dad is what I would consider a gangster. So, I say vintage gangster because in my head, I picture myself with a zoot suit… that vibe. My mother always called me her bohemian child, since I was a kid. And I very much am a bohemian at heart, or a hippie as people like to call me. I just have a love of life and a love of love and want to spread light and love everywhere. So that’s the hippie, and then the sailor is about being out in the water and believing that the water is what connects us all. My goal was really—how can I describe myself using the least amount of words that would accurately describe me. Sandy: Let’s talk about Prudence on Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. What is your favorite thing about Prudence? Tati: My favorite thing about Prudence has always been her unapologetic nature. Just the fact that she knows who she is! I feel like I grew a lot as myself through playing Prudence, and she taught me how to stand in my own ground, know myself, and to be comfortable in myself and the choices I make. Excuse my French, but she also just doesn’t take shit from anyone. She runs her own life in the way she wants and doesn’t wait for anyone to give it to her. She is definitely an anti-hero in the show! Sandy: Do you see any similarities between you and Prudence in real life?

Tati: Her strength and resilience are what I would say I related to closely in my experience. Just thinking about how much she could withstand and how she could keep going—I would like to say that I’m a lot like that in that way. I’ve been through a lot in life. But I’ve always come back! So, our strength and resilience are both things we share. Sandy: What do you find the most chilling thing about Netflix’s You? Tati: How real it could really be! The way the show is structured and placed in our modern time, and all the things Joe does. Even the elements that he uses, such as social media and driving around, stalking people. It’s too real. It really makes you think—are there are people out there like that? It just hits too close to home. Sandy: Did you watch You before you auditioned for the role? And what attracted you to the role of Marienne? Tati: Yes, I was a huge fan of the show before I was in it. There were several things that attracted me to her. One thing was that she was different than Joe’s previous love interests in several different ways. For example, she is a woman of color. I mean, there’s another woman of color that Joe dates in the first season but Marienne doesn’t shy away and is very vocal and present about her race. She talks about the struggles that she goes through—especially that her baby daddy is a white man. All of this was something that really intrigued me in the context of the show—especially in terms of the conversation that it often made among the black community. In other words, when we see horror films, our intelligence is insulted where the black person is always the first to die, or the black person is the one that makes the stupid decision that doesn’t run out of the place that the killer is in. So, I appreciated Sara’s take on Marienne in that way. Sara gave her that intelligence and that strength. And instead of obliviousness, Marienne was blinded by her own desire and need for love, as well as distracted by the turmoil that she was going through with her custody battle and with dealing with her ex-husband. So, I just was really drawn by the realness of Marienne. Sandy: Do you feel that the introduction of Marienne at this point in the show was important and why now? Tati: I feel like if you introduced a character like her early on, you wouldn’t have the show that you have now. You wouldn’t have the suspense, and you wouldn’t have been able to build the show in the same way. The main reason that we all root for Marienne truly is because we already know about the two women before her that fell victim to Joe. So, yeah, I felt like all that build-up and character development happened before Marienne was introduced strategically right now. Sandy: Spoiler Alert: Marienne is a survivor, which seems like a foreign concept in a show that is usually all about the victim. Would you say she was victim to other things instead, and her surviving was carefully crafted in this way?

Tati: Oh, absolutely. You know, she’s Joe’s victim—but she is also a victim to the system that she grew up in as a black woman. If all that wasn’t the case, she may not have found drugs and become a victim to addiction. But all of that made me so grateful that she was able to just survive. Sandy: What is your favorite Marienne moment and why? Tati: My favorite Marienne moment is when Ryan comes to the library and Joe and Marienne are locking up for the night. Specifically, the part where Joe comes in and steps in to diffuse the situation and the way that Marienne blows up on him. It shows that she’ll never view herself as a victim. I feel like it shows who Marienne is at the core, which is someone who has been a victim of a lot of things but will never let herself fall completely apart. Sandy: Do you think Joe has red flags, and what are red flags you’ve experienced in real life? Tati: Absolutely. And it is because we’re able to—as the viewer—hear Joe’s thoughts. So, of course, all of these thoughts are red flags… you know the stalking, of course, is a huge red flag. The way that he always thinks someone is flirting with him is also a huge red flag. I feel like we all know the red flags of Joe—he is a walking red flag. In my past (teenage years and in my early 20s), I was often attracted to men who have issues or have had some type of issues in their lives. Issues could be daddy issues, for example, or other issues. But the red flag I experienced is that type of guy who is broken that wants to be taken care of but isn’t taking care of himself. Sandy: Let’s talk about love vs. infatuation. How do you think they are dangerous in their own ways in the show and in reality? Tati: Joe’s infatuations are dangerous because they lead him down a very dark path. It’s not a healthy way to pursue someone. Love can also be dangerous. Love in the show has also been dangerous because it’s not the answer to everything. You can love someone all you want, but it doesn’t mean it’s healthy. And then in life, the dangers in general of being infatuated with somebody are that you never really know them and you’re never really getting to know them. Instead, you’re focused on all of the bright, shiny things and this perfect version that you’ve created in your mind. And love in real life is dangerous but also a beautiful thing— it’s a fine balance. There is such a thing as toxic love. It’s a matter of understanding that love doesn’t always mean you have to do everything for that person and sacrifice so much. Sometimes loving somebody is letting them go. Love is also encouraging your partner or family loved one to be the best

version of themselves by removing yourself at times or by giving them the space to find themselves. Sandy: If the show wasn’t called You, what would you call it instead and why? Tati: ‘Head of Lies’ or ‘Love is a Dangerous Thing’ Sandy: What is something your fans may not know about you? Tati: I don’t know if my fans know that I’m a person that’s fiercely protective of the people that I love. I will go very hard for the people that I love. Sandy: Are there any roles you want to experiment with next? Tati: I would love to try something that is completely inhuman. I would really love to be a superhero—that is on my bucket list. I really want to be a Storm. Also, I would really love to do a biopic or some sort of creature or something. If I could be Caesar from Planet of the Apes—that would be a really fun and interesting acting challenge and true to my roots in theater and movement. Like how do you emote without using words? Also, I really want to play somebody who is either schizophrenic or an addict— someone whose mind is completely away from mine and that I would have to search to find. I’m a big advocate for mental health, so I just want to tell the story of that nature. Sandy: What are you working on next? Tati: I am currently working on a new show for Netflix that should come out next year, called Jigsaw, starring Giancarlo Esposito, Rufus Sewell, Jai Courtney and myself. I’m really excited about it! It’s a sort of heist situation that takes place over the course of a long timeline of a few years. It is loosely based off of an incident that actually happened in New York during Hurricane Sandy—$7 billion worth of bonds went missing in Manhattan. We’re a few months into filming now and it’s going really well. Also, that show is in a cool new format that Netflix is doing where you’ll be able to watch the story and the episodes are by color. So, you will be able to watch the episodes in any order you choose. Also, I should mention that I am in a Sony Pictures movie, Uncharted, that is coming out February 18th, with Mark Wahlberg, Tom Holland and Antonio Banderas. So, I’m also excited about that. It’s based off the videogame of the same name, and it is sort of like a modern-day Indiana Jones!

paloma garcia lee Tell us a little about your life, growing up. My parents were both in the arts and I was born into this incredible, loving and artistic home. My earliest memories are of my dad playing instruments around the house and my mom bringing me to class with her. I’d listen to my dad play the banjo and the guitar, and sit under the barres in the dance studio, and I think that’s where the story begins. I did try to escape the arts for a while—I fell in love with horses and horseback riding. My parents supported me fully in it. No matter what I did though, once my mom opened up her dance school in Bucks County, PA, I always had to be there in the evenings anyway so she always put me in class and slowly over the years, I came to love it for myself and choose it for myself. I am an only child and my parents homeschooled me, so we were able to create this custom tailored little life for me that included commuting into NYC to take class in the mornings, doing school work on the train and then being at the studio all night. I spent my summers at ballet programs with ABT and Complexions Contemporary Ballet—at 14 years old, I left for North Carolina School of the Arts where my relentless passion and ambition was supported and cultivated, and after completing high school in 3 years, I moved to New York at 17 years old and made my Broadway debut. Phew—thats the quick and dirty of it all!

Who/what inspires you and why? My parents are a big inspiration to me. I think my mom has the biggest heart on earth. Her passion and her ability to change so many people’s lives through sharing her passion of dance and art is just thrilling to me. Both my mom and dad did everything they possibly could to support me in everything I have ever wanted to do, and that capacity to support and love and give thrills me, and the older I get, the more I realize how inspiring it is to be loved like that, and my biggest hope is to pass that love and that support and that passion on to as many people as I possibly can. I must also say my dear friend Ariana Debose is a major inspiration to me, and it’s just the most incredible thing ever that we got to do this film together. My moments in the film are deeply intertwined with her, and to be able to share that with someone who I love so much and who I admire so deeply was priceless. Ariana’s work ethic and hustle is second to none. She is self made and her talent is unending. She has always lifted me up and been my biggest cheerleader. Watching her rise has served as such inspiration for me to follow my biggest dreams and deepest desires as well, and it’s just amazing to have a friend like her. Every step she takes, she looks at me and invites me, “Come on. Let’s go!” It’s important to have those people in our lives.

How would you describe your experience acting in theater vs film? Which do you like better and why? I think they can’t be compared. I spent the last 13 years on Broadway stages and I just can’t express what it’s like when the lights dim and the stage manager calls places— you hear the overture start and you are buckling into a 2 1/2 hour roller coaster ride in front of a live audience 8 times a week. It’s singular. I was in Moulin Rouge! most recently and that show holds such a special place in my heart—dancing Sonya Tayeh’s choreography every night is a beautiful memory tattooed on my heart. I can’t wait to be back on Broadway, but I am looking at it through a different lens now of what I want to do. I’m excited for the right opportunity to come along that I can dive into and return to the stage in this new chapter of my life. As for film—where do I begin?—I am in the honeymoon phase. I just got to film my very, very, very first movie with Steven Spielberg as the director and his whole team—I got to play one of my dream roles, in my favorite musical. I am so head-over-heels in love with working on film and and on camera that I truly stepped away from everything else I was doing to focus on this new path. I am enamored. I am enraptured. I am focused and swirling towards this new love. I want to immerse myself in this new medium and combine all of my talents and just dive so deep into this area for a while. I’ll come up for air someday, but for right now, it’s a full focus on film and TV for me! You star in the upcoming Steven Spielberg project, West Side Story. What can you tell us about the film? I can tell you that it’s magical. I can tell you that it was life changing making it and being a part of something so important and beautiful. I can tell you that it’s the most epic group of people I have had the pleasure of working with. Every single human being on that set knew how special the moment was, and the way we showed up each day with presence and gratitude was astounding. I can tell you what Steven Spielberg and Tony Kushner and Justin Peck did with this piece is so thoughtful and so rich and powerful. I can’t wait for the world to see this piece. I think it’s more important than ever and it’s amazing to be able to be a part of this legacy—on so many levels. What was it like working with the legendary Steven Spielberg? You know how sometimes they say to never meet your heroes? Well... meet Steven Spielberg if you get the chance because he surpasses all of the most wonderful things you have ever heard about him. It’s amazing to meet someone

so established in themselves and in their career and to then see them choose generosity and kindness each day. Generous. That would be the biggest word I use to describe him. Generous and Curious. He is constantly pushing himself to be better and shows up each day excited to attack the day and make art, and curious at what he can find in the work that day. What a beautiful leader to be around—the respect he commands in a room is beautiful and the love his team has for him is also so wonderful to witness. So much of his crew have been with him for years, decades even, and that speaks volumes to the ship he runs and the human he is. He allowed each of us in the film to feel so valued and chosen, so supported and cared for. It changed the way I work and opened my eyes even further to the sort of directors and teams I want to work for. Tell us about your character Graziella? Graziella is such an interesting chess piece in the story. In the past, she has been sometimes reduced to “Riff’s Girlfriend” but I feel in this film we are able to meet her in a much more rounded and full way. She is passionate, she is fiery, and she burns with a deep sense of desire and opinion. She is guarded and ferocious, but there are moments where she opens and her love and her softness and her care shine through, and I love that duality of her. In many ways, I see so much of myself in those qualities as well. I was able to step deeper into myself as a person through that experience of discovering her. What are some fun or interesting stories you have from on set? Maybe someday we will come together for a little tell-all of how fun those months were working on this project. Steven just spoiled us and each day was filled with beautiful surprises and experiences. There were so many firsts for so many of us. Who are some actors/directors you’d like to work with in the future? Wes Anderson and Greta Gerwig are my top two directors I would love to collide with. There are so many I admire and so many I don’t know yet that I am so thrilled to discover, but those two are the dream directors that I would just so love the opportunity, not only to get to know, but to create with. I have forever felt so seen in their work, in their identities, in the worlds they create. I manifest colliding with them often. What’s one of the biggest challenges you’ve faced in your career and how did you overcome it?

I am a unique individual. I march to the beat of my own drum. I’m not “conventionally” anything—I’m not necessarily “commercially” anything either. I am not clearly the ingenue and I’m not clearly the quirky best friend. I’m not the hot girl next door, but I am also not the bombshell starlet. I don’t really have any doppelgängers and I often feel like a lone wolf. This all collides into many times projects not knowing where to put me. I tend to show up to auditions and meetings just so unabashedly myself, and often times leave with incredible personal connections, but the conundrum of maybe not fitting the role that has already been written or the mold already cast. I can’t wait to be in on a project early enough that I can infuse and intertwine what I want to bring to a character with a director and a writer— it’s a massive dream of mine to truly originate and create a role with a team. The things that have been for me have been such beautfiful, singular fits for me. When I feel seen and when the fit is right, the connection I feel, not only with the work but with my fellow creators and creative team, is just so heightened and beautiful. But often I have struggled with wishing certain shows, both on stage and screen, would take a risk on me, knowing that I might not fit the traditionally commercial molds of things, but the expansive willingness and passion and unique point of view and life experience I can bring to some of those roles might surprise them and enrich the piece in a new way. I’m not sure we “overcome” this search for belonging and identity and the want to feel seen and valued—I do know that I no longer put myself in rooms where I don’t feel those things—and my commitment to self and authenticity is a practice and one that I re-center on daily. It’s easy to lose yourself trying to be what a show, a casting director, an agent or a creator might want you to be, so I think the beautiful balance is how do we step into the shoes of characters and projects and allow ourselves to expand without losing our sense of identity and self in our lives as well. What are three words you’d use to describe yourself? Passionate. Relentless. Curious. What’s your favorite place in the world and why? It’s a hand-in-hand tie between Switzerland and Scotland. Isle of Skye in Scotland is one of the most powerful places I have ever been. It’s so moody and thoughtful, I just love it. I also love the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. I am in an explorative mood and I really want to get to the Faroe Islands and to Norway, sooner than later. I’ve also never been to Paris or London, so I need to get those checked off the list soon! Describe your personal style. This has been shifting so much the past few years. I’m pretty eclectic and also inconsistent in my style. I deeply resonate with that TikTok sound that went viral “I got three looks... and that’s it... homeless man, 12-year-old boy, and a hooker.” I like transforming with fashion and with clothing. I love totally dressing like a 12-year-old boy one day, and then wearing a super tailored suit the next, and then a boho comfy dress the next—I am playing so much with what I love, who I am, what my identity is—and

I’m just allowing myself to express that really fluidly and without restriction right now. What are some beauty products you can’t live without? I have just been introduced to the brand OSEA. And I am forever changed. I loved the story of how this company came to be, and then I started trying their products and am just totally hooked. I have crazy curly hair and am a huge Deva Curl fan—they keep my curls in order and are a ride-or-die for me in my hair routine. I am trying to be more conscious of only using cruelty-free products and more sustainable brands. It’s so important—what we put on our skin, in our bodies and how we impact the world around us—it matters, and I care deeply to continue to sift through everything in my home and life to ensure it aligns with those values. I really like trying new products and learning about new companies—there are so many incredible brands out there. What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? What is meant for you won’t pass you by. I live my life by that. What songs are on your playlist right now? I have a vast music taste—I am hopelessly into Motown music and I am often blasting an oldies playlist titled “Brooklyn Mornings.” If not that, then I am also jamming to some newer retro pop like Durand Jones & The Indications. Aaron Frazer, Leon Bridges. I can get down with a full Ella and Billie mood, too. In the evening, I usually put on Raveena Spotify playlist and let that just swoooooon me into another world. I just went back and re-binged The Queens Gambit—Anya Taylor Joy is a massive inspiration for me and I watch her work a lot. I also re-watched Season 2 of The Crown— Vanessa Kirby is another massive influence on who I am as an actress. There are so many incredible shows and so much great content right now—if anyone has any suggestions of shows to binge, please DM me. Let’s make a list. What are your guilty pleasures? Well not so guilty, but my joyous balance and pleasure is horseback riding. I have a gorgeous horse that I ride 3 mornings a week out here in LA, and it’s the greatest gift. I’d love to bring that to a role one day, but for now it’s my simplest joy. I would love to continue focusing on training and advancing and maybe following in Kaley Cuoco’s footsteps one day of being able to balance traveling and showing/competing when I have time between projects! Time at the barn is healing and my trainer is just the most incredible friend and teacher. What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you? I am a homeschooled only child...who then went to boarding school. Well actually, maybe that surprises no one and just explains a lot about me.
