It has been decided that the city of Highland Park deserves a better quality of life. By forming a non-profit arm of the Social enterprise, Parker Village, The initial board of Directors, which includes: Juan Shannon, Blake Milnes, Michelle Jones, Lorne McGee and Maurice Turner, has decided to answer the call for the development of the future Highland Park.

HP Future Now will engage in the preservation of Highland Park’s rich history, while investing in various infrastructure improvements that will assist in the revitalization of the city with direct investments.

An ambitious goal of $1-3 Million for the fiscal year of 2022 is just the start. Shooting for the moon, the organization is at least poised to land on a star if their full goal is not achieved.

HIGHLAND PARK COMMUNITY CRISIS COALITION

The Highland Park Community Crisis Coalition, Consisting of Soulardarity, Avalon Village and Parker Village will be distributing several emergency kits in the month of October. These kits will include non-perishable food, flashlights, solar phone chargers and other items to be used in case of emergencies.

The list of people receiving these kits was created by an inquiry that went out over several months.

This is a collaborative effort with C3 Creations network and contributions from the Detroit Food Policy Council (DFPC), Ford Foundation and Detroit 2 Nepal Foundation (D2N). All persons receiving the kits will be notified shortly via email for an educational “meet-up” and to receive their kits. HPC3 working in the community!!!
