Being a father has really changed my perception about life, I now feel like I have another purpose other than music, it makes me want to work harder so my daughter can be proud of the man I am. I have had so many highlights; performing to a sold out stadium crowd who don't understand English but know my songs word for word, seeing so many people showing me love all around the world. All these makes it worth the whole. My lowest point has to be during my baby mama drama.

Recently I travelled to Congo Brazzaville, a fan saw me at the hotel and was literally crying and went down on the knees; I was like wow never knew the fan love was that mad.

1) QUEL A ÉTÉ LE MOMENT FORT DE VOTRE PARCOURS? ET LE MOINS BON? J'ai tant de faits saillants, une prestation dans un stade à guichets fermés où la foule qui ne comprenait pas du tout l'anglais chantait mot pour mot mes chansons, voir tant de gens me montrer de l’amour de part le monde entier.

Tous ces éléments font que cela vaut la peine, mon point le plus bas doit être le drame de la maman de mon bébé.

You rarely [should we say never?] see her without her makeup in place, her hair styled impeccably and her fashion styling done like a top notch pro stylist.

Her style she describes as chic, eccentric, and sophisticated. "I'd like to think that I achieve my sense of style effortlessly, since it comes naturally. I get inspired by style icons such as Audrey Hepburn, Victoria Beckham, and Melania Trump."

BefabNstaychic was launched in the Autumn of 2014 with the aim of sharing her sense of style, zest for life, love for travel and fine dining with those with similar interests.

Her daily beauty routine involves exfoliating three times a week, cleansing, moisturising, and (now applying ) lots of sunscreen from BrightenMi. Also, drinking a lot of water and eating 'clean'.

At this point, BefabNstaychic is still at the preliminary stage, and has inspired her to monetise her styling and design talent by realising her dream of launching a clothing line.

#OBSESSED Numerica, Music Artist, Cameroon FASHION: Fashion is something that is in constant evolution, it is a lifestyle. The way you dress or your taste in fashion usually determines your personality.

For me, my style involves simple but nice things. I wear everything I find that suits my body type. Nothing too extravagant though!

FOOD: I love chicken! Whether boiled or fried!

On a normal day, I can eat chicken and more chicken but my favourite meal has to be eru. Being healthy is very important so I am doing a lot of sports and keeping to a diet.

FITNESS: I exercise like 4-5 times a week spending over 1 hour in the gym as well as playing football from time to time.

DECOR: My dream home will be all white with mirrors and glass everywhere! White sofas, white tables...everything white!

PEOPLE: My team, my mother and a couple of friends are the only people I talk to, keep close.

TECH: Whatsapp and Instagram, iTunes and Gmail I can't live without. I don't always read my messages but I need to be informed on my business as well as about the people that surround me.

MUSIC: My music I would describe as Cameroonian popular music influenced by other styles however people tend to confuse it with coupé décalé because I was influenced by this genre.

I like to listen to different types of African music to keep my ears out on what other artists are doing and maybe get inspired.

LA FASHPRENEUSE À MULTIPLES FACETTES !

Dominique Hodieb, est diplômée en Journalisme/Mass Communication et obtient un Master en Relations Internationales. Elle est également conseillère en e-réputation, mannequin et Fashionpreneur – une fille à multiples facettes !

Née à Yaoundé et sous l’impulsion d’une maman qui a un don véritable en couture c’est avec une vision très dynamique de la mode au Cameroun qu’elle a grandi.

D’où vient l’idée du concept « Domptez Le Foulard » ? Elle a toujours depuis toute petite aimé le foulard mais c’est avec l’ampleur que prenait le port du foulard dans d’autres pays et l’appréciation de son entourage qu’elle s’est dite qu’elle devrait jouer de ses compétences professionnelles pour aider les autres à attacher leur foulard.

L’ampleur que prenait ceci l'a étonnée et encouragé à le rendre en véritable mouvement.

DOMY HODIEB entrain de tenter un retour aux sources. Mais elle recherche une façon plus urbaine, moderne, chic et glamour d’adapter notre culture à l’industrie de la mode, et l’habillement.

Pouvoir se vêtir chaque jour dans nos cultures sans être toujours « tribal ». C’est donc ce que recherche notre mouvement et nos créations de foulards, se vêtir des pieds à la tête de nos matières premières de façon urbaine, comme diraient certains « afrourbaine »

Le foulard ce n’est plus juste notre culture mais aussi un style de vie, le foulard se porte avec tout type de tenue (soirée, ville, sport, bureau), c’est une affirmation de soi. Le message ici est d’enlever de notre esprit la difficulté d’attacher son foulard qu’il soit petit (0,5m) ou grand, aussi large qu’un drap de lit d’une place. Il faut juste savoir le dompter, l’apprivoiser!

Les personnalités principales qui l’inspirent sont Yemi Alade, LadyB, Liliane de Massok; l’adorable mama Sally Nyolo qui a récemment rejoint le mouvement, et même des hommes qui l’ont encouragé pour qu'elle leur trouve un look de dompteur, entre autres les Tizeu, Maalhox.

Ses aspirations de cette année comprennent le développement du mouvement de façon pratique, pouvoir se rapprocher des jeunes filles des collèges qui pourront représenter le mouvement, afin qu'elle n’ai pas toujours à être présente pour une rencontre entre les dompteurs et dompteuses d’une ville.

Astuces pour attacher le foulard comme une modeuse ?

L’astuce phare est de ne pas trop réfléchir.

1- L’astuce phare est de ne pas trop réfléchir, ne pas vous dire que l’attaché ou le dompté de foulard que vous avez fait est moche. Il m’arrive de faire des attachés très compliqués et qui suscitent des questions mais il faut avoir confiance en ce que l’on porte, communiquer cette confiance pour que les gens apprécient sans comprendre.

2- Utiliser un foulard en wax lisse ou dur pour pouvoir le manier à guise et éviter celui en coton lorsqu’il fait très chaud.

3- Joindre les deux bouts du foulard vers le front, faire un nœud et designer les deux bouts à notre guise.

AFRICAN ESCAPES Photos: Instagram/Google L'Afrique, avec ses terres ensorcelantes, ses couleurs chatoyantes, sa nature, est souvent désignée comme étant "le berceau de l'Humanité", elle nous intrigue et nous séduit à la fois. Ce vaste continent offre un panel de destinations et de cultures atypiques et incomparables. L’OMT souligne d’ailleurs que le continent Africain est celui qui, après l’Asie, a enregistré la plus forte hausse de fréquentation avec une performance de 6% entre 2012 et 2014.

L'Afrique est tellement vaste qu'on ne peut se permettre d'émettre des préférences.

Chaque région, chaque pays a sa richesse et ses trésors.

Le Kenya pour les mordus de Safarie c’est le pays par excellence, entre la Réserve nationale de Masai Mara, le Mont Kenya, sa faune et sa flore le Kenya est le lieu de prédilection pour les aventuriers. La devise utilisée est le Shilling Kenyan. Coté gastronomique le plat national est le Nyama Choma, un plat à base de viande grillée.
