pring is basically here and

we’re all just about ready for the warmer climate. Lockdown was (is) long and the winter cold might have made a great excuse for staying in bed—but we’re ready for Spring and we’re ready to see what trends stick and what trends flop.

We excluded about 15 articles from this issue but they will all be posted in our blog. We’re keeping the content for the blog to help boost interest and readership.

August is Women’s month and we just want to express our love and appreciation to all the wonderful women in our lives.

You build us up, you strengthen and re-enforce us with confidence, you teach us by method and example and you show us that anything that seems impossible is only impossible in that moment.

But I also love the designs of Claris by Gerrit Pienaar.

After Matric I went back to my passion and participated in pageants such as Miss Phenomenal Pretoria 2018 where I scooped the Best Dressed award, I later participated in Miss Soshanguve 2019 where I became Miss Soshanguve Beauty with Purpose 2019, Miss Youth Pretoria 2019 and Miss Phenomenal Pretoria 2019 both competitions I was in top 5.

One of my highlights in the pageant world was when I was selected to participate in the launching of International Junior Miss South Africa in February 2020 at Sun City as one of the finalists representing Gauteng, there I won IJMSA Gauteng Ambassador 2020. Recently I was in the World Beauty Queen South Africa 2020 Top 5 and got a special award for Miss Personality.

I am really grateful for my God given talent and I always put God first in everything I do on stage. I am looking forward to give back more to the community as I have started Rare Breed foundation which will assist disadvantaged girls with personal hygiene products, and currently we are running a sanitary pad drive. I grew up as a lean body type person who aspired to be a fashion model some day but my disadvantaged background wouldn't permit me to pursue my dream; so after high school I went to university to study fashion design instead. Fortunately for me I was admitted in Walter Sisulu University to pursue my ND Fashion design course. Upon completion I decided to start my own brand.

It's been an educational and amazing journey to start business even though it's not easy financially an there are not many opportunities for people who take this road where I come from but I took my chances because i want to make my mark here and hopefully put my town on a world map some day. 2016 I registered my business as Mvelo Yindalo design ( facebook page name: MYdesign by Nomvelo Mazwi) I started putting my work out there and lure a clientele.

Year 2020 I've decided to take up on myself to start my childhood dream a modelling career, hopefully I'll be introduced in proper channels that will grow me as an individual and a brand simultaneously. Unfortunately lockdown happened earlier this year which has delayed my plans but i plan to join a modelling agency later this year anyway.

Dreams are just dreams until you put an effort into them that's what I believe in, however long it takes they can be achieved. Thanks God to my good genes I'm not even worried about aging soon even though I'm almost 30 already but I'm hopeful that I can do this and be an inspiration to the world. I'm a mother to a 7 year old disabled child and for the past 6 years I've dedicated my time in helping him get better I did that while on the side I tried my level best not to neglect my dreams because as challenging as it is to raise a child like him my life doesn't have to stop imbokodo can shoot 2 birds with one stone and anything is possible in this world if we put our mind into it as long as our passion doesn't die there's always hope .

I'm a go getter, who won't let my set backs holds me back. I always find a way to do what needs to be done.

I was inspired by Yolande Macalagh to give it a go and that's what I'm all about to do in the industry. Last year December I got picked to be a show stopper where I got noticed by Bogart men. This year I got an opportunity to shoot with The Loft by Malefo where I'm on the billboards and that woke my passion, to actually give it more attention.

I want to see myself modelling for the other brands, traveling the world to see and learn more about modelling as my mentor once said " the world is my oyster " and " greatest is not ahead of me but it is trapped in me" I believe those words and I'm leaving to them.

One of the bigger reasons I keep on improving is to show all the people that it's okay to have dreams but if it's driven by passion most can be achieved. My background is my inspiration as I come from a small town in Bethlehem. With hard work, discipline and persistence all is possible.

To me, modelling is almost like acting. You can, through outfits, be anyone you want to be. When modelling formal outfits, I can believe I am royalty, while when modelling sport or fitness clothes I can imagine being an Olympic gold medallist.

To all my fellow models out there I have one message: Do it because you love it! Do it because it's fun!

Schwane is the current Miss Teen Namibia, a passionate dancer and Model. She has been modelling since the age of 3 years old and is passionate about working with the Young of today as well as the deaf community. She runs an ongoing charity project and page called Beauty has a Story. She is a Junior Modelling Coach at Diamond International Namibia. Schwane is a dancer and has been chosen 9 times to represent her Country Internationally . She is also a motivational speaker to the Young and has hosted radio talks.

Schwane will be competing at Miss Teen Universe in 2021.
