So many of my friends, family and clients are currently unemployed. As a result, many of them are pretty bummed out and depleted. It's hard to see the ones I love lose their smile, self-esteem and spirit. With this in mind, I am dedicating this article with tips on how to regenerate yourself after a layoff, or any major setback for that matter. Regeneration mental health Often times, a lay-off is a lot like a divorce. After a significant relationship with your employer ends, the idea of jumping back into another job can be overwhelming and kinda scary. This is especially true if you have been out of work for an extended period of time. Time begins to play tricks with your mind and self-esteem. Fortunately, there are many ways to make a success out of your newfound unemployment, aka time-out, and ease yourself into an even better career, maybe even your true calling, purpose and destiny!

Here are 5 things you need to know.

1. Take time to regenerate. Make sure that you are mentally and emotionally prepared to work again. This is one of the most important parts of seeking employment after a layoff. The end of a job or long-term career can be quite traumatic, especially if you were very close with co-workers as a tight knit family that did things socially.
