CELEBRATING YEARS IN PRINT 4 4

mobile bay real producers

Wow! What a roller coaster ride this has been! Both fun and scary at times! We launched it in April 2020 just as the pandemic was in full swing. We survived that! Then we survived the Covid-19 real estate boom when most businesses were so busy, they didn’t think they needed to advertise. Now we are amid a challenging economy and market with high interest rates and businesses have reduced their marketing budgets, but we are still strong.

All of this serves as a testament of the validity of Real Producers, what we do for our Realtors and how we can connect businesses with the best of the best in real estate. Real Producers is now in 130 medium and major markets in the US and still growing with several markets in the launch phase now and I have personally launched a second publication, Gulf Coast Real Producers, on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The front cover of this issue reflects the front covers over the previous 12 months. I am very proud of what we do and very happy that you all love what we do for you. The best part of my job is working with elite Realtors like you.

Our sights are set on year five and becoming larger and stronger. You can help us by engaging with us through the magazine, social media and by attending our quarterly events. If you have business partners who you think should be a part of Mobile Bay Real Producers and be listed with our Preferred Vendors, you can invite them to join and refer me to them. The bottom line is, the more advertisers we have, the more top Realtors we can feature each month and the bigger and better our social events will be. All the things we do for you are free for you because of our advertisers.

I want to extend my gratitude to all of you who have engaged with us and attended our social events because you are the keys to our success!

A very special thanks to our sponsors who made the event possible. Our four sponsors were Crye Leike, Ox Foundation Repair, E3 Termite & Pest Control and Hembree Heating & Air.

THREE FEET AWAY FROM GOLD

Nathan Lippincott, the April Spotlight Vendor and owner of Fairhope-based Knockout Home Inspections, was born in Salem, Ohio 42 years ago.

NATHAN NATHAN LIPPINCOTT LIPPINCOTT

Knockout Home Inspections

“Salem is located about an hour south of Cleveland. My dad grew up on my grandfather’s dairy farm and worked 365 days a year before going into ministry.” Lippincott said.

As the son of a pastor, Nathan moved several times while growing up, with the first move seen at the age of seven.

“My dad was called to Grace Bible Church in Beloit, Wisconsin. At the age of 14, he again felt called to minister in Fairhope, and soon we moved again to another Grace Bible Church.” Nathan said.

Once settled in lower Alabama, Lippincott convinced his parents to

homeschool him so he could have the flexibility to help his father with his construction business.

“I got tired of switching schools and never wanted to sit through classes. I wanted to keep busy, so I framed houses with my dad in the morning, did schoolwork in the afternoon, and would go play sports in the evening.

Central Christian in Robertsdale is a private school and allowed students to do this.” Lippincott said.

Nathan met his wife, Sunni, while active in sports in high school. She was a star player on the girl’s basketball team and the two first became acquainted traveling to games.

“I was 18, she was 16, and we were both very good at basketball. We saw each other in the basketball games, on the bus rides and started dating around Thanksgiving. We would go on dates to Lambert’s Café where you could scratch your name on the table.” Lippincott said.

Soon after high school graduation, he married his wife and then spent the next twelve years building homes with his brother and father. A family soon followed.

In 2007 daughter Ayden was born, in 2011 son Trey was born, and in 2017 youngest daughter Eliza was born. All three now lend a hand in the business when not in school or playing sports, following in their father’s footsteps.

“Growing up, my dad showed me that you need to teach your kids how to work hard, that’s for sure.” Nathan said.

The start of Nathan’s professional journey involved him and his father working for his brother’s company. His career eventually veered towards the path he follows today during a summer family vacation to Lake Martin.

“Our family does an annual trip to Lake Martin in July. My father-in-law broached the idea in 2013 of starting a home inspection company, and my thought was that if he was going to help me have my own business, I didn’t know how to say ‘no’ to that.” Lippincott said.

to do FORTIFIED homes, I need to research this. I soon became a FORTIFIED Evaluator and then reached out to all the custom builders that I worked with, including my brother, and started doing fortification as well. It has been a huge push to our business, and at that point, I had to begin hiring people.” Lippincott said.

Fast forward to 2024 and Nathan’s prayers from 10 years ago have been realized today. Last year, his company completed 900 inspections, and –wrapping up this decade – he wants to double his production again in both the inspection and fortifications segments.

He went on to say that, after doing research, he knew that it required a four-hour test and required taking a 120-hour training course. As providence would have it, within two weeks back from vacation, he found a home inspection course in Mobile, passed, became licensed and promptly started doing home inspections starting in November of 2013.

“I had November and December of that year to set up home inspections and we did 18 jobs in 2013. In 2014 we did over 100 inspections and I was very pleased with that. I initially thought I’d be a one man show, make a decent living, and call it a day.” Nathan said.

In 2015, Lippincott developed another revenue stream that turbocharged his company’s growth.

“The next year rolled around and D.R. Horton, Truland Homes and DSLD started building FORTIFIED Homes. If track home builders are going

“I’m looking for 1,200 home inspections this year. We completed 2,400 FORTIFIED certificates in 2023 and this year my projection is 3,000. My overall goal for home inspections is 2,000 per year and since FORTIFIED homes need to be renewed every five years, I want 10,000 renewals a year. We’re going to probably do 2,000 renewals this year, on top of the normal certifications. I think we’ll probably hit these goals in the next five to seven years.” he added.

Nathan believes in adding business lines to continuously diversify his business.

“Being diversified is huge for any business and anything in life. You don’t want to buy one stock and hope it goes up. You want to diversify in

Growing up, my dad showed me that you need to teach your kids how to work hard, that’s for sure.

those stocks. When home inspections go down, FORTIFIED business goes up, and vice-versa.” Lippincott said.

“I try to add a new revenue stream yearly. My office staff has asked me when I’m going to slow down because they’re about to beat their head against the wall, but when paying employees, you want to make sure you have enough money to keep the doors open and the lights on. In that vein, I would like to hire two weatherization specialists for a new business line I am developing this year.” he added.

When asked for insight to give those inspired by his success as an entrepreneur, Nathan offered a motivational parable.

“A prospector was digging for gold but couldn’t find it. He soon gave up and sold all his stake and equipment to the next miner who came around. This one found gold three feet away from where the first one was digging. We give up too soon, whether in marriage, a career, or kids. We’re often only three feet away from changing our lives for the better.”

IMMERSION AND IMPACT

30 • April 2024
By Dave Danielson Photos by Lew Thomas, Adobe House Media Productions rising star

YYour greatest results in real estate likely began with a pivotal meeting with a person or family who shared their real estate goals with you.

In the process, you became essential in them taking their next steps forward.

True Professionalism

Clint Adam brings that same level of professionalism and superior service to his interactions, as well.

As a REALTOR® with Elite Real Estate Solutions in Daphne (and Elite Emerald Coast in Florida), Clint immerses himself in his clients’ needs and then finds a way to make a positive impact for them.

“I work to form solid relationships with my clients,” Clint explains.

“This is an intimate process when you’re working with people to help them go for their dreams. For me I

think a big part of what I do is about listening and trying to help people get where they need to be.”

Trust and Results

Clint earned his real estate license in May 2022. Prior to that he created a reputation for trust and results in the insurance business.

When he was just 18 years old, he started selling insurance and also worked as a bartender at a casino.

As Clint says, “I dove into insurance and did life and health insurance until Hurricane Katrina and then moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he opened and operated an Allstate agency for six years.”

Growing through Time

From there, Clint founded his own insurance marketing organization. As part of that, he recruited, hired and trained more than 80 insurance agents.

“After that, I changed gears, sold that business, and my family and I moved back to Mississippi, and semi-retired for a couple of years. From there we moved to Alabama in the Spanish Fort area,” Clint says.

“I got a job working for a real estate investor. It intrigued me and worked there for about a year before going to work for a company out of New Orleans that did jacuzzi and shower makeovers.”

Opening the Door

Eventually, Clint made up his mind to get his real estate license. After starting with Keller Williams where he soaked up as much as he could, Clint moved to Elite in the fall of 2022. In 2023, he earned Rookie of the Year honors there.

One of the driving forces in Clint’s career is having the opportunity to help his clients get the place they

will call home for potentially years to come.

“I like having the chance to help them realize their financial goals,” he says. “In turn, it means a lot to receive referrals from my clients. I appreciate being able to develop relationships and help them move forward.”

Wonderful Life

Family is at the heart of life for Clint. He treasures time with his wife, Kristen, and their three sons.

“My family has been my support group,” he says. “They have really helped me get where I am today.”

Away from work, Clint has been an active bodybuilder through time. In fact, in 2010, he was crowned as Mr. Tennessee.

Family time is at the center of his life. One of his favorite things is getting away to explore new destinations with them.

When it comes to supporting the needs of the community, Clint is engaged with the YMCA in Daphne. He and his family are also members of the Italian Society, and he like supporting the Pantry in Spanish Fort.

Congratulations to Clint Adam. Through time he takes the time to truly engage with those around him. In the process, he immerses in their needs and develops solutions to help them achieve their dreams.

FAQ

ABOUT THIS MAGAZINE

Welcome to Real Producers! Some of you may be wondering what this publication is all about, which is why we have created this FAQ page. Here, we will answer the most commonly asked questions from around the country regarding our program. My door is always open to discuss anything regarding this community — this publication is 100% designed to be your voice!

Q: WHO RECEIVES THIS MAGAZINE?

A: The top 300 agents in the Mobile Bay Area. We pulled the MLS numbers (by volume) from Jan. 1, 2021, through Dec. 31, 2021, in Mobile and Baldwin Counties. We cut the list off at number 300, and the distribution was born. For this year’s list, the minimum production level for our group is $7 million in 2021. The list will reset at the end of 2022 for next year and will continue to update annually.

Q: WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR BEING FEATURED IN THIS MAGAZINE?

A: The process is simple. Every feature you see has first been nominated. You can nominate REALTORS®, agents, affiliates, brokers, owners, or even yourself. Office leaders can also nominate real estate agents. We will consider anyone you bring to our attention because we don’t know everyone’s story, and we need your help to learn more.

A nomination currently looks like this: Email us at robert.orso@realproducersmag.com with the subject line “Nomination: (Name of Nominee)” and explain why you are nominating the individual. Maybe the person has an amazing story that we need to tell, or perhaps someone overcame extreme obstacles, is an exceptional leader, has the best customer service, or gives back to the community in a big way. The next step is an interview with us to ensure a good fit, and then we put the wheels in motion for our writer to conduct an interview and for our photographer to schedule a photo shoot.

Q: WHAT IS THE COST TO FEATURE A REALTOR®, AGENT, OR TEAM ?

A: Zero, zilch, zippo, nada, nil. The feature costs nothing, my friends, so nominate away! We are not a pay-to-play model. We share real stories of Real Producers.

Q: WHO ARE THE PREFERRED PARTNERS?

A: Anyone listed as a preferred partner in the front of the magazine is a part of this community and will have an ad in every issue of the magazine, attend our quarterly events, and be a part of our online community. We don’t just find these businesses off the street, nor do we work with all businesses that approach us. One or many of you have recommended every preferred partner you see in this publication. We won’t even meet with a business that you have not vetted and stamped for approval, in a sense. Our goal is to create a powerhouse network for the REALTORS® and agents in the area and for the best affiliates so we can grow stronger together.

Q: HOW CAN I RECOMMEND A PREFERRED PARTNER?

A: If you have a recommendation for a local business that works with top real estate agents, please let us know. Send an email to robert.orso@realproducersmag.com.
