Cycle de conférences dans le cadre de l’exposition temporaire «Drama and Tenderness – Flemish, Spanish and Italian Art of the Baroque» Jeudi, le 3 mai 2018, en anglais Rubens – the Power of transformation par Dr. Gerlinde Gruber, vice-directrice de la Gemäldegalerie Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien With this talk, Dr. Gerlinde Gruber gave an impression of how Rubens looked, analysed and used external sources, how he was able to transform and appropriate ideas of other artists. His creative power was so overwhelming that he had to add paper, canvas or panel to his starting compositions. This material aspect of his spirit was exemplified by the Stormy Landscape with Jupiter, Mercure, Philemon and Baucis, the most dramatic landscape he painted.
