COLLEGE LAUNCHINGDEGREE-LEVELCOURSES DESIGNED TO HELP UPSKILLTHE LOCAL WORKFORCE, FILLING SKILLS ANDRECRUITMENT GAPS IN THECOMMUNITY
TelfordCollege is launching new degree-level courses in September to create exciting career opportunities and help to upskill the local workforce.
The new courses include alevel five HND business programme, and alevel five HND in healthcareprofessions support.
They arepart of the college’songoing campaign to work closely with the local business community to provide the qualifications they need to fill skills and recruitment gaps.
The level five business HND is afulltime, two-year course aimed at those who arelooking to develop their knowledge of business beyond level three qualifications, or areperhaps seeking to expand their skillset to help gain promotion.

Working with experienced Telford College tutors, you’ll gain ahigher understanding of specialist areas of business such as marketing, human resource management and finance.
The HND HealthcareProfessions’ Support is designed to address agrowing demand for high-quality,professional and technically skilled staffwithin the healthcaresector.This qualification has been designed for those working as or seeking to become trainee assistant practitioners and, ultimately,assistant practitioners in healthcare.

The college works closely with the NHS, which is reporting an increasing demand for high-quality,professional and technically-skilled staff, and this course provides learners with the critical skills and practical competencies they will need.

“Our new level five HND qualification for healthcareprofessions’ support is being launched to meet areal need in the healthcaresector.This is afull-time, oneyear top-up for students who already hold the level four HNC HealthcareProfessions’ Support.
“It will prepareyou for avariety of roles within the health and social caresector by covering the knowledge, skills and behaviours within relevant occupational standards including integrated health and social care, healthcaremanagement, public health and health promotion, and healthcareand nursing assistant practice.
“The course can lead onto so many exciting clinical-based roles, like operating department practitioners, pre-registered nurses, jobs in therapeutic radiography, in-patient assessment, occupational therapy,mental health support .and much more.”
