Our Publishing Director, Dr. Sandra Iversen, holds a Ph.D. and a Master’s Degree in Education with First Class Honours. She has extensive experience in teaching graduate and undergraduate teacher programs at the Auckland College of Education and Massey University in New Zealand, as well as graduate teachers at Rhode Island College, Providence, Rhode Island, USA.
Sandra has served as an Advisor on Literacy for the New Zealand Ministry of Education and has worked as a literacy consultant in various regions including New Zealand, Australia, the UK, California, Wisconsin, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and Florida.
Before founding Iversen Publishing, Sandra held the position of Publishing Director at Lands End Publishing, Shortland Publications, and Macmillan Education Australia.

Long Vowels Vowel Digraphs Consonant soft c & g r-controlled vowels Tips for Teaching • Tell the students they are going to learn a combination of letters that appear at the end of many words. The letters are ck, Demonstrate the sound • Have the students turn to the title page and look at the blue letter combinations. Point to each combination as you read the letters, then have the students read them with you. Have them listen for the sound. • Invite the students to turn to page 2 and alert them to the ck letters at the end of each word. These are black. Tell the students they are not to guess the word from the photo. They will read the words and discuss the photos after they have gone through the book identifying and reading the ck letter combination. • Go through the book up to page 11 having the students identify and read the ck letter combination. • Return to page 2 and go through the book reading the words to the students. Some students may be able to read some of the words. • Go through the book again discussing each photo to increase vocabulary. • When you have fnished discussing the photos, have the students turn to page 12. Read each word pointing out the ck digraph. Invite students to add other words that end with the ck letter combination.
