ounded by film stars Nagarjuna and Amala Akkineni in 1992, Blue Cross of Hyderabad works towards making a safer world for animals. The shelter is spread across a two-acre plot in Jubilee Hills on a small hillock. Founder Amala, has not just lent her name to the project but believes in getting her hands dirty. The shelter has 780 resident animals, injured or just abandoned. We entered Blue Cross to see a calm, positive and happy place. At a modest office building, with the outpatient clinic and an open waiting area, you see adorable little puppies peering at you from behind a gate.
