Bees defend themselves with their stinger. But they only use it if they FEEL THREATENED because once they sting, they die.
When bees find a great OF NECTAR, they do a to share the information.
Without bees, the world would not have plants and flowers because they pollinate everything that grows.

THE SUPERHEROES
The flowers produce seeds through pollination. Pollen from the male part of the flower fertilizes the female ovules which leads to seed formation.
Pollen is like the flower’s ‘dust’ or ‘seeds’.
As bees move from flowertoflower, they TRANSFER POLLEN from one flower to another. This transfer is what FERTILIZESthe plants.
The intoflowersfertilizeddevelopstrawberriesfruits(likeapples, and tomatoes)andseeds (likesunflower seeds).
These fruits and seeds are important for growing new plants and providing food for animals and humans.
HUMANS SURVIVE because of bees!

EXPLORING MARS AND THE MOON
Humans are fascinated by what lies beyond our world. This has inspired inventors, engineers and scientists to design and build better and better spacecrafts and robots to study Mars and the moon.
One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.
THE MOON LANDING
On 20 July 1969, Neil Armstrong was the first human to walk on the moon. He walked around in a spacesuit and collected soil and rocks for scientists back on Earth to study.

MOON ROVERS IN THE FUTURE
NO ASTRONAUTS HAVE ON THE MOON SINCE 1972, BUT NASA PLANS TO SEND PEOPLE THERE AGAIN SOON.
They plan to build a base on which astronauts can live for months at a time. These rovers will need to travel far and have mechanical arms that can do heavy work like digging and hauling loads.
THERE ARE MANY TYPES OF ROVERS .
• Lunar trucks that can be operated by astronauts wearing their spacesuits.
• Small pressurised rovers that look a lot like campervans. They have been adapted so that the astronauts don’t need spacesuits when they are inside it. These rovers can move backwards and forwards and go sideways like a crab!

Curiosity’s job is to search for any evidence of life on the ‘Red(Mars).Planet’
The rover is controlled from a NASA laboratory on Earth.
The CURIOSITY ROVER was launched by NASA in 2011 and sent to Mars. It spent eight months travelling and landed there in August 2012.
curiosity ROVER
CURIOSITY landed in an impact crater called Gale Crater. This crater was formed when a large space rock hit the surface of the planet and made a cavity.
The rover has 17 cameras that are its ‘eyes’ and many instrumentsscientific for testing rocks and gases.
CURIOSITY’S mission was a two-year plan, but ten years later it is still feeding NASA information about Mars.
It has riverbeds, discovered lakebeds and minerals. All these facts point to the possibility that life may have existed in some form.
Curiosity is about the size of a car, but travels more slowly.

Ask your mom or dad to check that your tyres are suitably pumped and that your brakes are working.
Your bike must have a reflector at the back so that you can be seen by motorists.
When you are sitting on the saddle and you take your feet off the pedals, your feet should be able to reach the ground.
When you go cycling, you should try to have an adult with you.
Ride on the left hand side of the road. You must always stop at a stop street.
Check right, left and right again before taking off.
Never veer into the middle of the road and be aware that cars may come up behind you.
