EXT. AVENUE DE L’OPERA - DAY Strappy heels on hot pavement.

ELLE runs down Avenue de l’opera. The magnificient Opera Garnier is behind her. She runs in the direction of the Louvre carrying a dossier.

She runs past a multitude of MEN IN SUITS. TWO MEN IN BLUE SUITS turn and watch her go, elbowing each other and laughing.

Elle wipes the sweat from her brow. Elle continues dodging through the crowds, as some men purposefully put themselves in her way to get her attention.

MAN IN THE WAY Salut. (What’s up?)

Elle dodges around him.

MAN IN THE WAY 2 Qu’est que tu cours vite dans les talons! Sexy. (wow you sure run fast in heels. Sexy!)

Elle clutches to her files and pushes past.

ELLE Get out of my way!

Her breathing becomes more labored. She stops -- trying to catch her breath and looks ahead to the arches of the Louvre which though not so distant seem to be miles away.

The sky grows sinister. Something appears behind her. She feels breathing down her neck. She looks.

It is a French man bearing a slight resemblance Frankenstein reaching out for her.

FRANKENSTEIN IN THE WAY Vous avez de beaux yeux. Tu veux prendre une verre? (You have beautiful eyes. Do you want to have a drink?)

ELLE No! Elle tries to run away, but looking down she sees that her strappy sandals have turned into a ball and chain.

She looks back to Frankenstein French guy who is now REALLY Frankenstein. He reaches his heavy arm out for her. She SCREAMS and turns the corner to avoid him.

Elle makes off down the street dragging her ball and chain.

She hides in a doorway until she thinks the coast is clear and then crosses the street back to Avenue de l’Opera.

She starts running down the street past people who stare at her. She is having trouble dragging her ball and chain. Her pretty dress has now turned into Nicole Kidman’s drab prison like outfit in Dogville.

Looking back she sees Frankenstein, who sees her and in a very zombie-like way begins to pursue her.

She turns. Her eyes, the only colorful thing are intensely green, in a now very drab and gray Paris. They lock with the beaty black eyes of the business men who pass in front her.

One after the other all the men in business suits once she passes turn into zombies on the street and turn back to follow her and are closing in.

She reaches down trying to pick up the ball and chain. It is heavy.

One man in front of her tries to tackle her like in Football. She picks up her ball and chain and dodges around him.

She gets closer to the gates of the Louvre. She runs into the middle of the street. A taxi screeches to a halt. The driver gets out and starts.

DRIVER Baby you want a ride?

Elle makes it to the other side of the road as the driver turns into a zombie and joins the crowd of fifty zombie men.

ELLE No! She stumbles onto the curb and falls. The are all within feet of her. She struggles up and runs through a doorway and into.

INT. OFFICE BUILDING LOUVRE - DAY Opening the doorway, Elle finds herself in beautiful, colorful Parsian office. She looks down, (CONTINUED)

the ball and chains have turned back into sandals and She is holding her dossier and standing in front of a very NICE LOOKING YOUNG MAN who is smiling at her.

Elle fixes her hair. She smiles.

ELLE (cont’d) Bonjour. Suis-je en retard? (Hi. Am I late?)

NICE YOUNG MAN Non. Non. Pas de tout. Bienvenue.

(No. Not at all! Welcome) Would you like a coffee?

Elle looks around. A pretty RECEPTIONIST, birds are singing outside the windows.

ELLE Yes. That would be nice.

A loud THUMP at the door. Elle jumps.

NICE YOUNG MAN What was that?

He walks to the door and reaches to open it.

ELLE No don’t it’s zombies!

The Nice Young Man turns to look at her.

NICE YOUNG MAN It’s what?

ELLE Nothing. Haha. I was just joking.

It wasn’t easy to get here in these shoes.

NICE YOUNG MAN I can imagine. Let me just have a look.

The man opens the door. Nothing. He closes the door.

NICE YOUNG MAN (cont’d) Hmm. Don’t know what that was. Right this way.

He motions indicating his office. Elle leads the way walking ahead of him. He follows as his suit turns gray and and his eyes darken. He starts to become a zombie and follows.
