Memphis, TN
For 16 years, the MMBC Continuum has convened national thought leaders, representatives from all levels of government, corporate representatives, minorityowned and women-owned businesses, representatives from the M/WBE economic and advocacy ecosystem, and the greater community. Over the years, this Economic Development Forum has:
Brought national thought leaders, consultants, and renowned speakers to share research findings, insight, and data as evidence for the case of M/WBE engagement, corporate procurement policies, diverse corporate governance, and economic strategy
Presented federal, state, and local policy positions that supported or furthered corporate and M/WBE procurement engagement
Presented demonstrated strategies via corporate and M/WBE presentations
Provided hundreds of face-to-face corporate and M/WBE procurement connections in the Exhibition Hall.
Facilitated millions of dollars in post-Exhibit Hall procurements
Artificial intelligence (A.I.), robotics and self-driving vehicles are no longer technologies we hope to experience in the next few decades. We are experiencing the benefits of each of them (and more) NOW!
Our 2023 EDF theme encompasses not only the impact of technology on businesses but also the future of various functions within corporations and minority and women-owned businesses, including:
Throughout the two-and-a-half-day conference, attendees will learn from experts proven methods that increase skills and abilities to manage and lead through challenges, including known and unknown factors that lead to volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA). We invite you to explore leaders’ qualities that lead to positive outcomes during disruptive and changing times.
This year during the Economic Development Forum, we invite small business owners to gain insight and develop promising strategies on:
Improving how they communicate their brand, services and products
Creating strategies and building relationships that will improve small business financial wellness and bank readiness
Developing and nurturing relationships with procurement and sourcing professionals Implementing, into their operations, the latest business technology, such as customer relationship management (CRM), financial software, cybersecurity and various types of hardware.
Attracting new and growing existing talent will require creativity and ingenuity moving forward During our 2023 conference, we will explore proven strategies and techniques to develop and maintain your company’s employee pool, including examining data about the current and future workforce, factors to consider to increase recruitment and retention and challenges that lead to resignations and solutions to overcome them.
We encourage our 2023 Economic Development Forum exhibitors to utilize the event as a vehicle to share current or future job openings
This redesigned event has been historically held in November each year as a luncheon. This year, the event will be held immediately following the 2023 Economic Development Forum Thursday, August 17, as a gala format and awards show. We invite you and your team to join us in celebrating, rallying and engaging corporations, organizations and small businesses leading the way in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and making positive societal impacts while also enjoying:
