Iwouldliketostartbycongratulatingallourgraduates!Manyofyouhavebeenwithour programsinceyourtimeintheWeekendProgram.WefeelconfidentthatyouleaveMMA preparedforyournextadventureandpleaseknowthatyouarealwayswelcometocomeback andvisit.
AsIsitdowntopenthisletter,IhavejustreturnedfromChileandoursummercamp The training,weather,andterrainatElColoradowerenothinglessthanamazing!MikeDayleda greatgroupofcoaches,andourathletesworkedhard.Itwaswonderfultoseeallthe improvementinourgroup.
AtMMA,weprovideanexceptionalholisticexperienceforourstudentathletes,inspiring winnersandleadersonthehill,intheclassroom,andintheircommunities.Throughouroffseasontraining,mobileapps,andtrainingcamps,weengagestudent-athletesyear-round. AspreviouslyannouncedandseeninTopNewsabove,wehaveagreedwithStoweMountain ResorttoextendourtimeonMainStreetbyexpandingthesnowmakingcapability.This transformativeprogramwillbenefitourathletesforyearstocome.Thebenefitsofexpandingthe seasonwillbetrulyremarkable.Thepurchaseoftheadditionalequipmentaswellasthecostsfor keepingMainStreetopenlongerwillneedtobesupportedbyMMA.Youwillbehearingfromus, andwelookforwardtoyourmonetaryassistanceintheendeavor.

Apackedschedulekeptstudentsmovingthroughthe4thquarter oftheschoolyear.Oneweekofvacation,twoweekstrainingin Copper,twoweeksofAPexams,andactivitiesthatincludedsemiprosoccergames,discgolf,spiritweek,andgraduationtookup thefinaleightweeksof2024. Studentswentofftoplaylacrosseat StoweHigh,cooloffinlocalswimmingholes,andbikewhileclosing outacademicprojects,presentations,andcommunitymeetings.
OnJune7th,theClassof2024sawtheirgraduationatSpruce Peak.Theweathermadeittrickytodecideonoutsideorin,butin theendthestormcloudsprevailedanditwasbasedintheLodge. Thesixseniorsspokeeloquentlyabouttheirexperiencesovertheir timeatMMAandtookthemomenttoshowtheirappreciationto thosewhohadimpactedthem.KeynotespeakerTaylorMikelltied togetherhisexperienceasastudentatMMAandencouraged themtotakechances,notbeafraidtofail,andreachtotheir highestpotential.
WesayafondfarewelltoMaryStewartwhoisspreadingherwings toanewschool.Marywillnotonlybecarryingonherpassionsin EnglishbutwillalsobesharingherloveofNordicskiingasacoach attheDublinSchoolinNewHampshire.Wearesofortunateto havehadMaryimpactthelivesofbothstudentsandstaffhereat MMAandwishherallthebestinhernewadventures.

Thankyoutoourdedicatedandcaringstaff(DreamTeam!)forproviding incredibleexperiencesforthe28braveandenergeticcampersthat attended.Pricelessmemoriesweremadeandeveryonelovedexploring Oregonandsharingthewondersofnature.Whileeverydaywasfilledwith adventure,therereallyisneveratypicaldayatMMAMt.HoodSummer Camp.Eachdaywasever-changingandimmersivewithlotsofhands-on experiencethatwearesurethecamperswillneverforget.WevisitedSalmon Rivertocooloff,WelchesFieldforconditioning,ClackamasTownCenterfor somedowntimeandamovie,andtheDeschutesRiverforwhiteriverrafting!! Wespentmanyeveningsdiscussingsportspsychology,skiingtechniques, andreviewing videos.Wehavelovedgettingtowatchcampersblossominto betterskiersandstrongerathletes,andwelookforwardtodoingitagain nextsummer!

I hope you are enjoying the summer. We have had warm one here in Stowe, but beautiful nonetheless. Our preparation period is off to a great start. We had a super productive camp in Copper in May. We had excellent weather and the training conditions were prime.
Dryland Training is in full swing on campus. We are very fortunate to have Lorant Gudaz in charge. He has great knowledge and experience with conditioning and is extremely passionate and detail oriented. Lorant is also a top notch ski coach and we are thrilled to have him leading our U16 Program. The kids are working hard and making gains. Please make sure everyone is setup and fluent with the XPS system to stay on track with Dryland Training from any location. We have just returned from beautiful El Colorado, Chile and enjoyed another productive camp It is vast resort with tons of varied terrain and of course mid-winter conditions in the Southern Hemisphere.

Workoutsareguidedbyourperiodizedannualplancenteringonbuildingstrength,power, endurance,speed,andcoordinationwithoursightssetonthelong-termdevelopmentof thesehardworkingathletes.MMAU14sbegantheirsummerworktwo-daysperweekin thegymwiththefocusonlearningtobuildroutineandpropermovements.Theyoungest oftheacademystudentsareencouragedtopursueanactivelifestylebyenjoyingthe outdoorsthissummerandparticipatinginothersports,beitanorganizedsummer programorsimplyapickupgame,ahike,orabikeride.
WiththeadditionofWinterTerm student-athletestotheDorm,we haveatotalof26dormstudents-4 Full-Timeand22Winter-Term With somanynewstudents,andboarding studentsofallages, ourhouseis verylivelyandfun!! Wearelookingforwardtoworking togetherandspendamemorable wintertogether!
Lookingahead,wehaveourtrainingcampinZermattjustaroundthecorner,September 19toOctober4.Despiteexperiencingadamagingflood(somethingthatisalltoofamiliar tousinStowe),thereportsfromtheglacierandthetownarethattheskiconditionsare great.Wearealllookingforwardtoskiingagain.Enjoytheremainderofthesummer!
