ABOUT ME

Mar Moreno - Product Designer & Illustrator

Since my childhood, I have stood out for my creativity. I was always surrounded by colours, papers and notebooks. I could spend hours drawing or doing handicrafts projects. Unlike other children, I never stopped doing it.

Now as an adult, I still enjoy doing projects where I can use my creativity. I have made it to people’s needs from a design point of view.

In 2011 I began my Degree in Engineering in Product Design in Barcelona and completed 2016. In 2015 I had the opportunity to study for eight months at The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. There I had the opportunity to be involved in courses such as ceramic and Illustration.

sign I wanted to expand my knowledge and passion for Illustration in one of the universities that I admire the most The University of The Arts London. For this reason, I moved to London and I began my Master’s Degree in Illustration and Visual Media at The University of The Arts London.

Furthermore, apart from my enthusiasm for design and art, I enjoy travelling, visit new places and learn from other cultures.

During this time I had the opportunity of living in different cities as Melbourne, London, Amsterdam and Barcelona. Meanwhile, I was working and studying. In these cities, I had the great chance of learning many things related to work and friendship.

Work experience PÈL I PLOMA (2021 - presently) /School manager; art teacher; digital illustration teacher This phase in my career is far from the kind work I have been doing, product design. This project, carried out in Igualada, owner of an art school and fine arts store. AUCA DE L’ARRIBADA DELS TRES REIS A IGUALADA 2024 TheThree Wise Men Festival of Igualada is the oldest one of Catalonia. The events of the festival of the Kings of Igualada begin on December 28 with the arrival of Page Faruk accompanied by other pages. This 2024 we have very excitedly celebrated the 80th anniversary of our beloved Paje Faruk.

On January 1, in the morning, in the Ateneu Igualadí Municipal Theater, the boys and girls deliver the letter to Page Faruk so that he can send it to Kings Melchior, Gaspar and Baltasar. On January 5, the parade begins. The parade is accompanied by the Igualada Music Band, performing the Page Faruk Anthem.

During the parade, the pages distribute packages along the streets where they pass, climbing ladders over the balconies of the houses. After the parade, gifts are distributed in different parts of the city.

This 2024 I have had the opportunity to make the Illustrated part of the Auca of the arrival of the three kings to Igualada 2024.

Together with Georgina Guixà in the texts. A commission that has been in the works for almost a year. It has been carried out with great enthusiasm, joy and much gratitude.

Product Graphic Design During my time at HEMA I have had the opportunity to participate in the development and design of toys.

Most of the toys in this collection are made of wood and felt. The target of this collection are children from 3 to 6 years old.

Apart from these wooden toys I also had the opportunity to develop costumes for children. I would like to add that working in this department has been one of the most beautiful experiences and in which I have had the best time.

At the beginning of the seventeenth century, the Dutch tile industry starme the largest production area in the world.

The growth of the industry was a direct effect of the period known as the Dutch Golden Age. Wall tiles could handle the heat and were easy to clean. Nowadays these tiles are true collectables.

After years of travelling through many wine-producing regions and many experiences in the world of producing and marketing wines, the Barrero brothers created the Viñedos Singulares project, based in the city of Barcelona.

a contest for this wine company from Barcelona.

Viñedos Singulares has six different types of wines. Once a year they produce a Magnum bottle for special occasions.

Every year they realise a contest between emergent young artists so as to design a unique label for the magnum bottle of the Verdejo’s wine.

The contest consists of different stages. After a seven months process, the design I created was the chosen one. This design appears in the magnum label of the 2016 bottle. .

This Illustration was made in 2017 for the Penguin Random House Student Design Award contest. Allen Lane stopped at the station bookstall and saw that all the books on sale were of a poor quality and overpriced.

This competition is an opportunity for students interested in pursuing a career in design. This is a real case scenario to experience the process of a cover design.

Interactive Robot Product design

Kiori is an interactive robot designed for hosof Barcelona. One of the busiest mother and child hospitals in Europe.

The aim of this project was to develop an interactive robotic toy able to reduce the anxiety and stress during the different situations that a patient and the family have to face at a hospital. From a medical visit, an emergency or a long-term or short-term hospital admission For this reason, was important the adaptability of the product to all the different areas of the hospital.
