Background
The Annual MMA Women Managers' Convention is a celebration of the spirit of women and the many diverse roles women play. Every year, the theme of the convention has revolved around the evolving role and needs of today's women. The event creates a platform for women across different walks of life to come together, share their thoughts, opinions, insights and experiences. What binds these women is the urge to excel in their respective fields, be it as business leaders, entrepreneurs, thinkers, artists or policymakers. The focus of the convention is to inspire and guide women to grow in every area of their life.
As a prelude to Women Managers' Convention, a competition is conducted every year where women managers are invited to present papers on the theme of the Convention. The papers and presentations are judged by a panel of eminent jury and the winner is awarded the “Outstanding Woman Manager of the Year” award at the Women Managers' Convention.
The Platform
The Extra Mile
We all have the power to create the future we want. But reaching our full potential requires a little more than status quo. The big differentiator is not Brains or Brawn but resilience and most importantly an ability and willingness to go The Extra Mile!
This year’s convention will be all about coming into the best version of ourselves! How do we ensure that the sum of our parts (and the roles we play) - will add up to be greater than the whole!
In the process, we will celebrate our wins, take risks, set boundaries, and rest & relax!
We will push boundaries and attempt to identify - what is MY extra mile? What can make my life, relationships or work better by doing a little extra?
Competition Perspectives
t “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going” is an old adage that applies to women repeatedly at various points in time, during the journey of life. Women have to constantly motivate themselves to overcome professional and personal challenges to remain ahead.
t Woman is endowed with enormous capacity to multi-task. But what determines her success is her ability to channelize the talent to maximise her potential
t Winning the race calls for an extra ounce of effort in finishing the extra mile, which others find difficult to take. Do you have it in you?
Expectations from participants
t Present viewpoints relevant to the theme
t Participate with a competitive spirit
t Learn from others' points of view
t Demonstrate talent, knowledge and experience acquired over the years
t Establish creativity and professional excellence in the presentation
