Guidelines for Big Debate
Topic for Debate: "The greatest risk of AI is not the technology—but the absence of human oversight"
Each competing team can have a maximum of 2 student members, either from the same institute or from a different institute.
One student will speak in support of the motion, and the other student will speak against
Maximum time allowed for each team is 10 minutes as follows
3 minutes would be provided for making the opening statement by both participants then followed by a rebuttal round of 2 minutes by both.
5 to 10 minutes is for interaction with the Judges subsequently
Guidelines for Quiz :
The competition will commence at 09:30 AM. Debates by both participants of team are essential.
The top 3 debaters will be awarded prizes. (Not 3 teams) The teams should reach MMA Management Centre, Anna Salai, Chennai by 08.45 AM on Wednesday, 8th October 2025.
However, all teams are to be available before 09:15 AM to attend the briefing about the format and guidelines.
Dispute: The jury’s decision shall be final in all matters pertaining to the evaluation and selection of Winning team. However, if any team has any grievance over the conduct of the event or the jury they may submit a written complaint addressed to the President of MADRAS MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION, which shall be routed through the Executive Director.
