BRIDGE, PHILLIPS, ELAM CREEK DRAINAGE DISTRICTS MECHANICAL VEGETATION TREATMENT STATEMENT OF WORK DIVISION 100 – GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS 110 – Scope of Contract. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, supervision, supplies and perform all work required for the mulching of targeted species using a track-driven machine in accordance with the specifications and provisions of the contract. The Drainage District will furnish no materials, labor, or equipment. 120 – Description and Location. The area to be treated is within the boundaries of Corinth, Alcorn County, Mississippi (See attached map). Treatment area is located along Drainage District canals all located within the boundaries of the Bridge, Phillips and Elam Creek Drainage Districts. Location: All sites, roads, levees and ditches treated will be prioritized by the on-site Drainage District representative. Priority areas will be determined prior to beginning work based on need and existing weather conditions. 130 – Schedule of Work. Project start date will be coordinated between the contractor and the Drainage District representative based on field conditions. Estimated start date: July 1, 2011. Project must be 50% complete by August 1, 2011. Contractor must be 100% complete with all field work and satisfactorily inspected by the Drainage District representative before September 1, 2011. DIVISION 200 – TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS 210 – Application Instructions. All trees and woody stems smaller than six inches dbh (diameter @ breast height) will be mulched to within three inches of the ground level, unless otherwise agreed upon by the Drainage District representative. Leave trees will be identified by the Drainage District representative. All overhanging limbs less than six inches in diameter within reach of required equipment described below in Section 220 will be mulched. Area to be mulched along levees and road sides will be from the edge to top bank edge side of ditch with total cut area not to exceed 30 feet. All brush and woody vegetation along and within ditches will be mulched from the top bank to the bottom of the ditch area not to exceed 30 feet. 220- Equipment Requirements. 221 - Vegetation control using the mulching method: The two types of equipment used shall be track-driven cutting machines which are designed to cut, chip, and mow brush and small trees without penetrating the top soil. The equipment shall produce mulched vegetation to minimize erosion due to both wind and rainfall. One track-machine will consist of at least a 42” or equivalent mulching head cutting surface, mounted on an
